Run down property with no atmosphere. I wouldn’t classify this as a hostel. Facilities were old and kitchen was dirty.

I have stayed in lots of hostel, this is the oddest set up I have come across. The manager drive from elsewhere to check you in (although he was very prompt), and leaves 1 minute after. There is also no staff on duty. You really can't feel any love. This place has a weird vibe, it almost feels like a place out of the Hitchcock movie. Furniture seems like from old motel / diners. Every single room is directly off the open common area, so can only imagine how nosy this place is when it is busy. Single bench kitchen with 1 stove may be hard to cook when more than a few guest. Only having 2 bathroom & 3 showers really isn't enough for the amount of beds. Towel should be automatically put on guest bed like all other hostel instead of waiting for guest to ask for one, after the manager is long gone.

I was trying to come up with how to describe our experience here....came across a review that pretty much captured it, so here it is for you to read: I really want to rate this place higher, as it ticks a lot of boxes on paper. It provides free phone booth to call anywhere in Canada. It has free pool table & Netflix TV & generous lounge area, the place is clean & tidy. It also has own bar fridge in each dorm. The shower was hot & nice. If it's a bed & clean place you are looking for, this place is 5/5 for value. But if you are looking for the community mingle vibe like most other hostel (HI Lake Louise / Dreamcatcher in Golden etc), you will be disappointed. It has a clinical boarding house feel rather than hostel.

It is a low quality hostel. In general the smell of all the building was awful. Although the bedroom was more or less clean, the kitchen wasn't. Sometimes it was a bit disgusting to be in the common areas and use the shared bathrooms. There were a lot of people living there for long periods.

It was cheap. We had a full room for all the family (5 members). There were common facilities with kitchen, living room and bathrooms.

The bathrooms had no towels to dry your hands with, shower floors were soaking wet, smelly from cooking of foods. If there had been a mop to dry the shower floors that would have helped.

Able to book 1 night at a time. Comfortable common room. Rooms were clean.

The cleanliness could use some work. The whole place smells a little musty, the bathrooms had cut up Tupperware as paper towel dispensers and old laundry baskets without bags as trash bins. the dishes were old and not in a great state and the kitchen overall felt dingy. The tables didn’t seem to get cleaned often.

It’s a nice location close to Lake Windermere. There was a mini fridge in the room that was nice to use.

I paid one queen room with higher price with description of having 1 private washroom and 4 more twin room to acommodate my family and friends family but we were never give that 5th queen room.

I don't like is the place is good but it's to dark ang also there kitchen was to dirty not even organized knife it's just on the counter also there microwave is to dirty when I need to use it I need to clean it first...I think because that there is a refuge that living there they must do once they use it clean it FiFo use the FiFo please....and also they don't have option of the rooms for family they just give as a bunk bed which is not good for infants and kids...

Dirty showers, only 2 toilets for 16 rooms, no daylight in the kitchen, lot of noise and smell of other guests. In an other room were 4 adults and 3 kids. Bleh, never go to that place, too expensive.

Free breakfast was not included on our booking, however the place was very nice. very accessible and only few minutes drive to Fairmont Hot Spring Resort. The place is clean and big so not crowded even though the kitchen and washroom are sharing.
