How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

It was perfect for a family - close to a private beach with paddle boards and kayaks and outdoor games for guests to use.

Beach is very rocky and located between two docks. Poor area for swimming or paddle boarding.

Just needed some clothes hanging spaces, the cabins could use hooks and/or clothes hanging stands...
The resort was nice and the managers were fabulous!!

The cabin's are really clean and bright, and very modern. The managers were amazing people and incredibly helpful! Both my sister and I had meetings we had to attend and since the wifi was not set up for the summer yet, they let us use they own personal wifi! In addition, they let us use an empty cabin so neither we nor our family were disturbed. They were very kind and very generous with information and their time. I would highly recommend staying here.

If you want absolute privacy,this isn't a place for you. All cabins are very close together. You will be sharing your outside space with everyone else. The beach is good sand earlier in season. But rocky and muddy near end of season. It's a nice place, maybe a bit over priced.
Hosts are very nice. Very helpful. The cabins are basic but cute. They have everything you need. Fully stocked. Fairly quiet location.

The internet was a bit patchy. I needed to get a bit of work done and ended up having to hot spot on my phone. It is fine for casual use, but not reliable for working remotely or streaming anything.
The location is amazing- 100m from the beach! The cabin was cozy and just what we needed for a family trip. We will definitely book again at Jewel Bay Resort!

I was disappointed with the pull out couch. I think if you are advertising a room to sleep six guests, the pull out couch needs to be in better shape or quality. I understand that pull out couches are not the most comfy, but this was by far the worst pull out couch I had ever slept on. It would be really great if you would replace the pull out couch with something newer and a bit better. The mattress is SO thin and springy. Again, I know they are never the best place to sleep, but these ones were very bad, and I think if you are advertising it sleeps six, then it needs a better couch.
Location was great, friendly staff, clean upon arrival. Beautiful view, and so close to the water. Happy that they provide BBQ with propane, and picnic tables. Also fun games and swing set down by the water!

All was good for us
We have gone 4 years in a row. It’s a perfect place to stay while heading to Salmon Arm Water slides, Margaret falls, and doing all the sight seeing around:) jewel bay is also a beach you could stay at and never move. Depends what you are looking for.

The only thing that could have been better would have been the weather but that was outside of everyone's control.
We had a cabin facing the lake. Too bad it was raining most of our stay otherwise we would have liked to enjoy the beach right beside us. Michelle & Chris were very attentive and supplied us with a BBQ and extra pillows. The hot water wasn't turned on when we arrived but they quickly fixed it and we didn't have a problem the rest of our stay. Also, there is no heating in the cabin but they supplied us with a portable heater which did the trick and we were very comfortable. Wouldn't have needed the heater if it wasn't cool and rainy out. The cabin is equipped with an air conditioner but we didn't need it.

There was no wi-fi at the time of our booking, and as we were travelling for work this was quite an inconvenience. The second night they gave us access to their personal wi-fi.
The staff gave us their personal router when we asked if they'd had any success with Shaw. The Cabin is in a beautiful place, very clean.
