Facilities need TLC . 300.00 for one night was excessive. Very dated, but Thankfully very clean.

Breakfast was delicious, but would have liked it earlier than 10h00am.

A little disorganized due to new ownership, but that is forgivable. Rooms need renovating, but you will sleep well. The amenities are minimalistic, but that is perfect for someone like myself.

Place has a lot of potential. very clean. I spoke with the owners, and I could tell right away that they care about their hotel lot. The location is fantastic. Halfway between Toronto and Montreal. Kind staff.

After being closed for some years it is evident that there is some work to be done. I wish the new owners best of luck in getting the place back to where it used to be and should be. Lovely spot.

The box breakfast was amazing as was anything else we had to eat. Location is gorgeous and very interesting to walk around and watch the lock operate.

We loved the history , and location. Very relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast, included in the price, was fantastic. Yummy eggs benny. And the owner very nice and accomodating. We even got to meet his awesome dog, PowWow. The best part of the trip. 😆. We will be back

The most important thing was the owner attitude as it was disrespectful, rude while yelling at us and kicked us outside the hotel with No phone connection and no where to stay. Property has the worst customer service and owner. The hotel owner is chef, cleaner, receptionist and server, that’s why he didn’t have time to respect his guests. He was threatened us with harassment as he told us he will call 911 if we don’t leave his property. Why? Because we were waiting for half an hour for check in and they didn’t even care about us… then, he said that you have to much expectation that asking for check in!!!!!!! The property was very dirty, smells bad, moldy and the owner smelled bad as he was sweating jumped from the kitchen to us….

We had a terrible experience in thus hotel and we highly recommend you to Not book this property as it’s disaster. We arrived for checkin and we faced with a smelly and no maintained environment. We were waiting for half an hour and they didn’t checking us, while we had kids and dogs with us and been very tired driving 3 hours to get there. When we asked them to give us room, the hotel manager showed up very unfriendly and rude, yelling at us that we are busy and cannot checking you and better to get out of my hotel! He just started yelling and threatening us that he will call 911 if we don’t get out and he canceled our booking without any reason while we were so tired, hungry and frustrated. He acted very strange like he had a bad day and he didn’t respect the customers that we paid 600$ for 4 of us for one night and expecting get the room when we arrive. The situation was very wired and the way that the hotel owner behaved was intolerable and his attitude wasn’t normal to the guest of his hotel. We just shocked when he cancelled our booking in the middle of No Where…. My son was crying as we didn’t know what to do…. The hotel was very farm from the city, no internet connection and even store around. We didn’t know what to do at 8:15 pm whit no place to sleep. The hotel was full of mold and dust, even beside the front desk they had a very dirty dog bed that was full of bacteria and smells disaster, like they even don’t care of dogs and public hygiene. This facility should be inspected by the authorities as they don’t care about customer services and hygiene standards. The lake was such a pound also is full of mosquitoes and smelly. You guys deserve better, so don’t get close to this disrespectful place as human being and customer service is not important to them. The hotel owner said that he is working for the organization and he doesn’t care about customers! He said that if you cannot wait, better leave my hotel!

Avoid this hotel! When I booked this place, I read the reviews, and it seemed to me that it was ok to spend one night here with my friends and my child. When we arrived at the hotel at 7:30 in the evening, no one greeted us at the reception. After 30 minutes of waiting, we asked the hotel restaurant staff to call someone to check us in. We also asked if they could serve us dinner while we were waiting. They said that it was 8 o'clock and that they were closing the kitchen at 8 pm. We said very polite that we were hotel guests who had already been waiting for check-in m9r3 than 30 minutes. 5 minutes later, a man appears who introduces himself as the owner of the hotel, shouts at us that the kitchen is closed, says that he heard from the staff that we were rude which is absolutely not true, that he does not want to host us and that we should get out of his hotel or he will call the police. We told him that it was 8 pm, that we were in the middle of nowhere, that we are from Toronto, 3.5 hours from home, hungry and tired, and waiting for him more then 30 min. He replied that he didn't care, that he was the owner, and that he would decide who would stay in his hotel. Honestly, we have been traveling for over 20 years, and we have never experienced anything like this. He literally kicked out two families with children who had booked his hotel and tried to check in. He looked upset, sweaty, messy, and unsightly for someone who needed to host people. I believe he was busy in the kitchen preparing the food for not more then 10 people in restaurant and was nervous and tired, but what we experienced was a disaster and unacceptable for the owner of a hotel. Nor was any of us rude, unkind, ill-mannered... We paid $600 a night for this hole of a hotel, which, by the way, smells of dampness, looks old and neglected, and the last thing we expected was this kind of reception. So guys, be very careful when you book this hotel.

Really not recommended to stay there: 1. The accommodation house is dilapidated and rotted in many places. 2. The smell in the room is foul, and the musty smell is very serious. 3. The hygienic conditions in the house are very poor, and there are dust layers everywhere, perhaps because few people stay there. 4. The quilt is very damp, the towels are yellow, and the facilities are very simple. 5. The attitude of the boss is extremely unfriendly, he will not help you solve any difficulties, because the geographical location is remote, you have no room for negotiation. 6. Although breakfast is included, if you are more than two people, you need to pay extra for the expensive breakfast for your children.

fridge was pretty dirty on the bottom shelf bathroom sink was not cleaned on either side of the tap TV remotes were sticky no garbage can available, I used a small recycling bin in the room rug was damaged near the door exterior door had a large gap on the side, I could see the light coming in

bed and pillows were clean and very comfortable site is gorgeous, landscaping is well maintained carpet was clean

If I "had" to say one bad thing, the doors in the room we were staying were a bit hard to open and get closed so they were noisy if we had to get up in the night but that's the only thing I can really "complain" about.

Dinner was amazing, we were expecting typical hotel like food but it was really good! We'd come back just to go to dinner. The adorable "guard dog" was a plus too.

Facilities and fixtures are outdated (ex. Very old beds, old tv, floor coming up in places, no bolt on the door, window lock broken).

The service was great. So was the food. Can't beat the view of the water. Ac was very efficient.
