Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesPricy.
Our second time staying, as good as four years ago, convenient location, clean and comfortable and quiet room, the sparkling drinking water and wine tasting are our favorite, e-bike is the improvement (did not have it last time).

United Kingdom- Weird damage deposit system, caused a bit of a headache to see where extra charges were coming from before finally being refunded. - The room was very poorly lit, the only lighting being natural light through windows or lamps.
- Convenient location. - Staff were friendly: They accidentally lost our umbrella but were able to locate it afterwards. - Decent gym.

JapanUnfortunately, the rental bicycle was broken and the accommodation fee was incorrect. Looking at other reviews, it seems like there was a wine tasting. When I stayed there, the staff didn't explain anything about it, so I don't know if there was a tasting. Although there was a description that Japanese language support was available, there was only one staff member who could speak Japanese for one day during the stay.
The staff were very kind even though I am not good at English. Towels were changed and trash was disposed of daily. We had a comfortable stay thanks to the friendly staff and clean rooms. There were many shops around the hotel and it was a convenient location. There was a famous gelato shop nearby and the attached restaurant was very nice.

United StatesThe building itself looked a little dated on the outside, but inside was very nice.
The rooms were spacious and clean and the hotel was located in a terrific neighborhood for restaurants and was convenient to walking all over Vancouver. Also, the WiFi was extremely fast and reliable. Complimentary French Press coffee was lovely too in the morning.

United StatesIt would've helped if the hotel name was illuminated at night since we got into town quite late, but that's not a quibble. There were no stairs to go down from where we were staying to the lobby. It wasn't immediately apparent that there were bike rentals - that might've helped trekking around Stanley Park more efficiently.
Prime location; further away from the Vancouver Center rail station than I'd like, however the proximity to Stanley Park and Bisou Bakehouse and having food still open late at night being on Robson St had its merits. Coffee/tea complimentary service in the morning was a delight! Pleasant and subtle fragrance in the hallways even if the decor is a bit dated.

United StatesWe are city people used to walking, and to traveling without a car. This location is a bit hilly for easy walking, although some of our group did successfully walk back uphill from Canada Place (the rest of our group took a cab). The city shuttle to Capillano never arrived at its stop (up the street), so plan to take a cab or Uber to distant sights. Someone on staff clearly smokes right outside the front door because every time we entered the building we had to pass through a haze of smoke (please ask them to go around back; it made for a horrible first impression). For the price (think Disney resort prices), the room was a bit of a let down. It turns out all of Vancouver is this overpriced, so that doesn't make this hotel out of the norm. I wish I had known that ahead of time, so I could adjust my expectations. The room was perfectly fine, just not what I was expecting value-wise. We chose this location because it was where one of our pre-arranged day tours was willing to pick us up. Next time, I'd stay closer to Canada Place.
The room was clean and comfortable. There was a mini fridge, coffee maker, table with 2 chairs, desk & chair, and a nice size TV. There are lots of restaurants along the same street. For a quick bite, there is a Tim Hortons and also a Subway sandwich shop nearby. The hotel staff were super friendly and accommodating.

United KingdomThere was no safe in our room and we didn't really enjoy the bar. It's trying to be a cocktail/ wine bar, restaurant and place for guests to relax and enjoy breakfast and in the end achieves none of these well. Having said that, we did use it for our 1st breakfast and a drink in the evening as we were too tired to explore and it was ok. There are excellent restaurants and brunch type places around this area so check out recommendations on other sites.
The room was a great size, comfortable and nicely decorated. Good quality bedding and towels, very comfortable beds/pillows The location is perfect for exploring Vancouver. The reception staff were very helpful and our cleaner was lovely. The breakfast we had on our 1st morning was good and the orange juice fresh.
