How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

I am not used to stay this kind of low height room, both my wife and myself hit the room several times.

Everything was exceptional. The host went out of their way to help us deal with car issues. Val provided a generous breakfast. We felt at home.

The treehouse was very cute, 2 beds, shower, Keurig coffee maker. Look outside in the morning to see bees flying off and back to their hives, lovely garden. Sitting in the garden sipping cocktails was a treat.

unfortunately there was no sink in the kitchen section so it made things a little more difficult food prep and washing wise. you need to use the washroom sink. the ceiling over the bed is very low so remember getting in and out of bed.
quant slightly eclectic accommodations. although it feels like the country it’s mere minutes to the city. the hosts are fantastic and really do care about their guest. Be sure to try the local honey from the hives on the property. the room was well stocked with all sorts of things to keep you quenched and satisfy the nibbles. unfortunately we were working during the stay so we didn’t get to just lounge around the property, but it’s definitely a recommend from us.

TV is not available, but no problems watching Netflix on your laptop (and who needs watching TV commercials anyway?) The Treehouse is about 15 minutes away walk/3 min drive from the village center. It is a nice refreshing walk among pine treed streets.
The Treehouse is a modest name for this cozy studio which is located in separate building (very private). There is everything you need including high speed internet. The studio includes small kitchenette and an own 3 piece bathroom with shower. Val offers a fantastic honey (from her own beehives) and tasty blackberry jam. Great place for meditation, stress relief, fasting and getting away from the busy city life.

Cute, exactly as advertised. Lovely location , tasty breakfasts with delicious homemade jam and honey. Loved having air conditioning during the hot nights. Valerie, the host, was very friendly and showed us the shortcut to the local, enjoyable pub.

I would have appreciated a small tv to catch up on the news, a hair dryer and bigger fluffier towels but these are all first world problems. The walk to the rocky beach is really more of a drive.
The continental breakfast was delicious with vast choices. The location was great (easy access to highways and in a nice neighbourhood) and the hosts were extremely welcoming. Loved the gardens and the uniqueness of the property.

It's super cozy place to stay, great for two people ( they are two single beds); i did traveled with my teen daughter; The place is located in a very quite neighborhood, though very close to the beach ( 10 minutes walk) and to the Hwy for people they want to visit some places around. The host provided a very generous breakfast, including home made honey and blackberry jam. You can enjoy a nice seating in tehir garden surrounded by beautiful flowers, veggies and trees. It was lovely to meet the hosts and chat with them. Both are very welcoming and easy going. The place has a minimum of basic appliances such as a kettle, coffeemaker, fridge, toaster, micro way very useful to prepare the breakfast or a simple meal. Place has A/C so it nice over summer time when nights are very hot. The place is greatly priced and great for travelers on the smaller budget

Ceiling too low, kept bumping our heads. Twin beds were ok.
Spotless clean! Hosts provided all facilities in this small space, including a fabulous breakfast! They kept table & chairs in the garden for guests as well which was a nice touch.

I went looking for a pair of scissors but could find any. Not really a big deal. I just used my knife.
The location was perfect for closeness to my job. The cozy room was exactly what I needed. The hosts were super friendly and the cake was a great touch. The honey and jam were delicious as well.

Beds were OK for comfort, two single beds are both in areas with a sloping roof so be careful if you're tall.
Cute little area, self check-in was easy, walking distance to the local restaurants. The homemade jam and honey were interesting touches :)
