How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Honestly, it was great hotel for our needs. This isn’t a five star hotel with five star amenities, but we didn’t need that. We wanted to enjoy the city, and have a place that was close, safe and comfortable to call home afterwards, which Hotel Le Deville offered at an exceptional rate.
Within walking distance of everything we wanted to do/see. Easy check-in and check-out process. The rooms don’t offer much, but it’s perfect as a crash pad while out exploring/seeing the attractions.

There was no fridge.
I wished there was a fridge somewhere in the building or floor. And the washroom was a bit small

The bathrooms don’t offer much privacy (frosted glass walls) but that’s just part of the character of the place. A mini fridge in the room would have been be nice. We ended up leaving a lot of leftovers in restaurants as we had no way to store them.
Good location for walking to the Plateau and the Old Port, easy access to the Metro. Room was clean and comfortable and the hotel was very quiet.

The heater in our room wasn’t working so it got chilly at night. The bathroom was also questionable as it had see-through walls and this gap in the ceiling. Bathroom is probably more suitable for couples.
The location is great. Close to the attractions we wanted to visit.

The bed could've been more comfortable.
The receptionist, Anthony, was accommodating and friendly. No breakfast which was already expected. The room was better in person since the photos on the website were older and good for solo traveler; no view in my room since the hotel is surrounded with buildings. Location was great around downtown area and close to subway stations and bus station.

Table, and chairs in the room were plastic foldable ones. Not really bedroom furniture. The private bathroom was very small. The sink was tiny. Much smaller than expected. But considering the money I paid, and for location, it was acceptable.
Location was great. Room was comfortable. Bed was very comfortable. Hotel is safe and secure. They take safety very seriously and it was great to see that.

Bathroom doesn't have a full wall and has sliding glass door with gaps, definitely not ideal if you're not 100% comfortable with the person your with 😂
Room and general areas were very clean, great location! We were there for a show at MTelus, plenty of great bar and restaurant options all within a couple of blocks! Did not need to go far for anything (great when it's cold and snowy!), the person who runs the hotel was nice and made sure to let us know to contact him if we needed anything.

Does not have an elevator. Wi-fi wasn't too fast and a film paused a few times but I was there to see the city.
The room was very comfortable and clean. The location was great with many things easily walking distance. I highly recommend.

My room was just across the concierge and beside is the street. So it could get noisy if the attendant is talking with someone and especially since clubs/bars are nearby. but i was still able to get some sleep.
I like that it was very near to Place des arts - as i was there to attend a Distant Worlds Concert. That it was very accessible to a lot of restaurants and shops, just walking distance. Very safe as well since they have some sort of locking system in place. Overall a very good place to book.

The isolation between the rooms is not the best so you could hear anyone walking outside/upstairs. Price is a little high for the rooms. The sheets/towels are clean but they have stains/burns sometimes
The owner is really nice and welcoming. The location is very good in the middle of the downtown. The building gets locked at night which makes you feel safe. The place is quiet and calm however we had a night where the upper floor was very noisy and they woke us up in the middle of the night just because of moving and walking around

Doesn’t have elevator so if you have big luggages then you might think otherwise. And if you’re the type that needs big restrooms and bathroom then this is not for you, theirs comes small and no wall

The room was in the 3th floor with no elevator. Carrying 2 big bags through the stairs wasn't funny. I didn't see any information about this prior reservation. The bathroom was soo small and with translucent glass that is unconfortable to use the toilet.
