How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Lacking delph and cutlery. No TV.
Spacious facilities. Big covered terrace. Good WiFi. Easy access to public transport and grocery shops and restaurants.

Almost missed getting door lock and room number ..... fortunately, my flight departure was delayed. That info should have been sent out at least one day earlier.
Location noisy. Room stuffy so opening the window increased traffic noise. Adequate to good. Less noise especially during quiet hours.

Could use more decoration and the floor in common areas was dusty. The floor mat in the room could be a little better quality.

Drain pipes are kind of noisy, my room (b102) had a tabaco smell
Excellent location, bus to downtown is around the corner, groceries, restaurants and other shops are walking distance

Poor noise isolation.
I stayed 2 nights for Vancouver marathon. It was next to the start line, which was very convenient. 7 Eleven store and a bus stop was right next to the house. 30 minutes from Downtown.

The owner’s family was super friendly. The room was comfortable and affordable. There is a laundry machine that finishes within an hour and a dryer. There is a hair dryer. The location is in a quiet neighborhood. Not the most convenient, but very good for relaxing. There are bakeries, cafes, and restaurants nearby. There’s even a TCM practice within a few minute’s walk.

Semi basement, so not a lot of light, no view outside, the flat was very cold, even when supposedly increasing the temperature of the heater. I was surprised when I saw that it was a shared flat rather than a fully separated room. Overall, ok place but expensive for the price.
Position not too bad, multiple buses are around the hotel. The room was quite large, the flat was well furnished. Room and flat were clean. Bed very confortable.

Bathroom was very basic, with not amazing water pressure in the shower.
Location was great, room and wifi worked well. There was plenty of space to keep and store your things. Owner was very attentive and diligent.

Is was very loud in the morning and when people used the washroom or kitchen. There was also a loud sound of water above the room that woke me up each morning.
The room was very clean and in a great location. The staff were very friendly and left nice touches like a water bottle in the room for guests.

Very limited kitchen equipment- 1 saucepan, 2 frying pans and a wok, for 7 rooms. Equally 1 bathroom to all share. Oven not easy to operate, no instructions, but good once going. Bathroom door does not lock
Spacious, bed comfy, room size good with hanging closet. This place needs TLC, has good potential, clean enough, but looks grubby in places - bath, cobwebs in windows, floors. Good shower, free washer/dryer. Cooker rings good to heat up. On good bus route with bus stop 2 min walk.

Wifi wasn’t very good. Sound travels easily so could hear guests in other rooms quite often.
Clean room, convenient to have a kitchen available, good location and good value for Vancouver prices.

Quite thin walls as able to hear conversations from others in common area, but that was only one evening Expensive but I guess most of Vancouver is
The lady who works there is so lovely, no English but we got by! Very smiley and let me store my bags for an hour post check out The bed was comfy and I felt very safe during my 4 night stay The place was very clean and we wear provided slippers once in the house I was able to use the washer and dryer which was very useful! Very warm and powerful shower
