There are no pots, spices, or kitchen towels in the kitchen.

Parking is safe and everything in the accommodation is clean. It was easy to cook because there was an electric rice cooker, an electric kettle, a dishwasher, and a small frying pan. You can store ingredients in a large refrigerator. It's a quiet, safe neighborhood. It's a 10-minute drive away, and there are big supermarkets such as Costco and Walmart.

I can confirm that the kitchen was very dirty, as can be seen from the pictures. It is actually a good, rather new kitchen. However, imagine a fraternity house kitchen - this is how it looks like. The dishwasher is broken, the stove completely stained, the mugs are broken, open food in the fridge, sticky stains on the floor, all lower cabinet doors stained…. The sheets in our room smelled not freshly washed. They all had an odor of old sweat. In our room there were towels just for two, while we were 3 persons. The two available towels were wet. Luckily the host asked the young man to bring us fresh towels, what he did, again somewhat grumpy. Unfortunately the new towels smelled not freshly washed. In general, if a professional was put in charge of cleaning the place some problems would be solved. The accommodation needs to be closed down for a thorough cleaning. We had a room with a bed and a sofa. The bed was ok, the sofa is really not comfortable, you feel every coil spring of the mattress. After 11 PM someone knocked very loud at the door for a longer period of time. Something like this can be quite scary if you are traveling alone…

The description is not completely clear, so here comes the full picture: this is a house with several bedrooms. I counted 5 doors with numbers on them, so I assume that maximum 5 rooms are rented out. As this is a normal family home, not every room has an own bathroom. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom. The kitchen and living room are shared. The host does not live in the house, but someone connected to the host - a somewhat grumpy young man, who seems in charge of maintaining the house and maybe cleaning the rooms. He did not introduce himself, did not say hello or anything

I didn’t like anything, it’s very dirty, the beds are not changed, there are no pillowcases, the towels are dirty, there is no toilet paper, there are no dishes, the toilet on the first floor doesn’t work, it’s not cleaned at all, they just take money and do nothing, I don’t recommend

Location in the town (see above). The bait and switch. On arrival at the address given, we were walked over to a different address in the newest part of the subdivision where the driveway was not yet paved and the the yard was just bulldozed dirt. As a result, it was hard to keep dirt out of the house. The rooms were ok and we had to share a bathroom. The master had an en-suite, but was rented out for one of the three nights we stayed. The Booking.com didn't have a way of making a booking for 3 nights for one of us and a fourth night for me. I request that, but didn't get a response. On arrival I asked and was told that I could have a room, but in another house (they manage 3 houses), so would have to move on Saturday. I moved out of the first house at the appointed time and was told to check-in later in the afternoon or the evening. Then about 1800 hrs, I got a call saying that there was a problem with my room and I would have to go back on the booking site and look for another room. This was the first day of the Canada Tulip Festival, so at such late notice, I was not able to find a room. Fortunately, I had friends in Ottawa and was able to stay with them. The rest of my time was good, but that left a bad aftertaste.

The staff was very helpful and responded to calls for help. They also did a good job repairing the damage made by a previous client. For the business we were doing Barrhaven was convenient. But the location of the property in Barrhaven was not good. It was about as far away from the facilities in the town centre as one could get.

Nosy owner. If you open an extra cupboard in common area landlords will come running asking you why you have opened this and that so it feels you don’t get privacy and someone is always watching you.
