Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe location, in Parc des Gouverneurs, between Chateauu Frontenac and the Citadelle is just perfect...just up from Terrasse Dufferin completes the picture! The room, a 2-bed room for 3 people was very comfortable.

CanadaStaff were lovely and the room was clean, but could have had a touch more of a polish, especially in the bathroom.
Location, kitchenette, comfort and clean, easy to access, close to everything, comfortable beds, well appointed.

United StatesNothing really. The price (admittedly during Winter Carneval, a busy time) was not the bargain it was years ago but it was worth it.
This was the third time I’ve stayed at Manoir sur le Cap. It’s very convenient to all the attractions of Old Quebec. The old stone building itself is an attraction for me. The owners have changed but the quality remains high. Bed was comfy, bathroom was clean, furniture antique. This time there was parking behind the hotel, which is a big improvement over the offsite parking of the past.

CanadaWhile the hotel room was very clean, cozy and had character. The room door only locked from the outside, you could only lock your door with a chain on the inside. The hotel was in a safe location but not having a proper lock on the room door made us feel a little uneasy.
It was in the best spot, right next to the Chateau Frontenac and close to restaurants, pubs, shops and Museums.

CanadaThe bed was a little hard. The shower barely gets warm, even after 5 minutes of running.
Superb location within the fortified city walls! Beautiful neighborhood. Central to the touristy zone of Quebec City. The Hotel is in a beautiful old building. Rooms are well decorated with feature stone walls. Floors creak and are crooked, as you would expect in a 180yr old building. This is a small hotel and you get a personable service. You might be able to get a parking spot if you ask ahead, and for an honest price which is rare in this area of town.

CanadaNo breakfast option. Nothing else to say - I recommend.
The location is great and the bedroom was super comfortable and clean. We stayed in a two queen bed bedroom and the space was good. Good bedsheets, a good shower, and a hair dryer in the room. Staff suggested parking close by and it worked out well for us.

CanadaThis is not the fault of the hotel, but we rented a room with a double bed. Be warned that those rooms are small. We did glance into some of the other rooms as they were being cleaned and some of them looked quite comfortable
the hotel is in a fantastic location, close to all of old quebec and all of the restaurants. There was parking available and it was easy to get to and to use. I loved that we cold walk out the door and onto the Plains of Abraham. It is an old hotel, with what I would call European character

United StatesRoom needed some attention. Nothing big, but you would think they could keep some of these things fixed. Had to put shoulder into the door every time I went in as it would not open, and severely warped. Burned out light bulbs, light fixtures that did not work, towel racks that were loose on the wall, leaking coffee pot. Ceiling fans that you were asked not to turn on because they were broken.
Quaint little hotel good for a couple nights. Location was excellent. Staff friendly.
