Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaIT’s recommended to arrive at the property during daytime. There is no light in the forest and there is a 4 km drive on gravel roads.

CanadaIf you’re the queasy sort, this is not the place for you. If you were look up, the definition of rustic this cabin would be featured.
Like Otho g we’ve ever experienced. Rustic, in the wild, the longest driveway we’ve ever cycled. The goat in pyjamas has quite a personality. Hard-working, mother, and daughter team, supporting over a dozen horses, four giant pigs and chickens absolutely everywhere. The breakfast was amazing. Meeting farm support folks from Europe was fun as well.

CanadaIt's a long drive off the main road and the road needs a lot of work.
The ranch was exactly as advertised which I appreciate the most. It is off the electric and water grid but the owner's innovations made up for it. All the animals looked well cared for. Breakfast was delicious and the owner brings it right to your cabin at the time of your choosing.

CanadaThe only down side was getting there. I did not receive Connie's instructions about the locked gate, and had to call. She gave me the combo to the lock box. I thought she meant a combo pad lock, as there was no lock box in sight. But the lock required a key. Another call revealed the lock box is concealed behind the gate: not at all obvious. Once I got the gate unlocked, it was very heavy to open and too heavy to close. After that the 4km dirt road is like a washboard: a very jarring and slow drive. It made for an unpleasant and stressful arrival.
It was great to get off the grid and step back in time to a much simpler lifestyle. Connie was warmly welcoming [once I managed the locked gate and dirt road - see below]. The cabin had all the charm hoped for. The only noises were the many barnyard animals and at times the generator. It was fun to be awakening by the rooster and sunshine pouring in the front window. Connie's hot breakfast was delicious: scrambled eggs with 3 home made pastries including a croissant all served warm with butter and jam along with soft cheese, OJ and a pot of coffee.

CanadaEverything was great, but if it’s cold, remember that the wood stove will go out during the night. Warm duvets keep you cozy in bed, but bring warm bed clothes for nighttime toilet visits. Flushing the toilet at night or running the taps is loud because the electrical pumps kick in. Our only complaint is that the pull-out couch bed mattress is very uncomfortable, even for kids. The loft bed, however, is comfortable (but be prepared to climb up to it).
This is a beautiful place, way up in the hills above Shawnigan Lake, surrounded by Cowichan Band forests, down a four-kilometre gravel road. The farm itself is active and filled with farm animals, yet calm and attractive. The guest cabin is compact yet well laid out, with a loft bed and a pull-out couch bed. Duvets are warm and comfy. Entirely off-grid, so toilet and appliances work on battery power, with a few hours of generator power per day. Heat in the cabin is provided by a wood-burning pot-belly stove, so prepare to stoke it if it’s chilly. Breakfast is simple but delicious.

CanadaWe didn't mind it but the climb up to the loft is a steep one so just be warned for anyone with mobility issues. The bathroom facilities are simple but camping style sponge baths are always fun. We appreciated that the water supply is scarce this year so we were happy to use as little as possible.
Conny and Gary and their animals were lovely hosts. Loved communing with the piglets. Thank you, Gary! Breakfast was delicious, served on the cabin patio with the hens and Finnigan, the puppy, for company. Thank you, Conny! So peaceful and relaxing. We all slept well on the loft bed and the pull out sofa.

GermanyBefore arriving, I got an email that I have to contact the farm on the phone for getting the code for opening the barrier. When I called the communication was not really polite for whatever reasons. The contact with the daughter was the only personal contact we had. I had almost the impression that we are disturbing. The comfort was limited. The regular bed was OK, but the sofa bed was worn out, so that I had to improvise to support my back. The breakfast, we cannot evaluate because having breakfast at 7 am was not possible (considered as too early), so that we had to skip it.
The accommodation was somehow special. Away from civilization on a farm. The daughter showed as the accommodation and also a little bit around the farm. We had our own cottage, which was nice.

GermanyWonderful place. You have to rent a Car to come to that place, but it was worth it. It was how it was descripted. Friendly owner and animals, nice breakfast. You can choose the time when she should bring it to you. Next time I would stay longer. There would be a Kitchen too. Watch out, other persons in the comments told that in the direction from victoria to Nanaimo they ate for Dinner in a rest Stop next to the Highway near Malahat with a nice View on the bay, but this Restaurant was closed. So for Dinner you have to search Something Else or you buy Things for cooking By yourself.
