The breakfast. Though we were aware the breakfast to be a "Continental" it has been some time that we have stayed at a location without some sort of real breakfast to start our day... even if at a reduced cost for hotel guests. Having now compared Murray Premises with other hotels in the area... we are more likely to gravitate to another nearby location that is able to provide a true breakfast (some sites include breakfast in the price and others offer a reduced charge for hotel guests). Having the option to an on-site breakfast before preparing for the day ahead (shower etc.) is a real game changer.

The location can't be beat... awesome access to everything. Note, access being the key reason we gave this location a try. Is our first time to stay here. It is worth mentioning parking our rental vehicle at the property was easy and convenient. Three things I believe travelers rate as most important (1) Foot Access - Most travelers have spent significant time driving to their destination, being able to step away from automobiles and associated stress to walk in the fresh air is welcomed. (2) Include conveniently located parking lends itself to worry free arrival. (3) A great breakfast on-site to start the day ahead.

We had a large room in a restored warehouse building. The staff were helpful with directions to local sites. The continental breakfast was good, but there weren't enough seats in the lounge.

Breakfast was enough to get thru the morning. We aren’t big breakfast eaters so it was good. The location was excellent. Walking distance to everything downtown and the view of the harbour was a bonus.

The breakfast could have been better. Maybe offer toast, bagels, or waffles, or cold cereal as options. As a smoker, a bench out front would have been nice.

The room was larger than we expected and very comfortable. The location was superb! Close to everything we wanted to see and do.

The Keg and Jack Asstor’s across the street blocked our amazing view of the harbour from our room! Not a problem.

Murray Premises was a very welcome surprise as it is in the middle of the downtown area, with easy walking to most central pubs and restaurants. The room and bed were very comfortable, clean and spacious. The helpful staff made excellent recommendations for local dining. Parking and late night security are well thought out. Very good value for downtown St. John’s.

Found the rooms very dark, hated room 408! Should have indicated I had heart problems, carrying suitcases to the 4th floor was a struggle! No bar ora restaurant for late checkins 😢

Loved the location, always wanted to stay there! I’m from St. John’s but never had the opportunity to stay at the property! Very cozy room, almost like staying in a cottage 😍

Access to bath and shower awkward. Bath mat provided but some sort of hand rail would help to get into elevated tub. Lighting in room felt a bit awkward.

Better than average breakfast. Very well located. Convenient to restaurants and shops. Clean. Comfortable.

The breakfast was limited to muffins and yogurt along with beverages. The sitting area was small for the size of the property with only a few tables so could be crowded at times.

This property was outstanding and the location in a historic building right on the water front was beyond words. The staff was extremely helpful and even offered assistance with our luggage as our room was in the fourth floor and required using the stairs from the third floor where the elevator ended. The rooms took advantage of the wonderful gabled roof and created a cozy atmosphere. The bathrooms were modern and they even had electric fireplaces in the rooms. One block to Water Street and 2 to George Street. The beds and bedding were well above the average for a city hotel. There was also plenty of free parking on site for guests.

When I asked to book a room for an extra night the European accented woman wasn't helpful other than to say my room was booked and I have to go online and find another room myself. The same female and a younger male, also with a euro accent, seemed annoyed when I asked about laundry facilities for my own use.

I liked most of the staff, they were helpful and accommodating. The exposed wooden beams/joist were very rustic and appealing but, the lack of insulation between floors had me hearing co versatile and every step taken by the patrons above.

Room was airless because we could not open the windows due to large, noisy air-conditioning units on roof right outside the windows. Breakfast was fair but very basic and everything was in small plastic containers; not very environmentally conscious. Did not appreciate 'Alexa' system in room.

Great location in historic building. Comfortable bed and nice large bathroom.

Our room was at the very top of the building. The lift only goes to the third floor. We then had to climb 2 flights of fire escape stairs, then walk across a roof corridor and another set of stairs, every time we went to our room. We met other guests on our floor who also complained about this: frankly, it was hard work! In the room itself, the exposed wooden beams of the roof sloped so low and had sprinkler pipes surface mounted on them, which meant that I couldn't stand up in some parts of the room. It also only had one small window - a roof light - which meant the room was very dark. The artificial lighting was not adequate.

Location; lots of things within easy walking distance. Helpful staff, within the limits of their authority.
