Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaIt was decent, no major complaints.
So an austere dorm room, single bed, chair, great view from 8th floor, and the bathroom was both clean and well appointed. It's a separate bathroom but it was less than 15 feet from my room.

United StatesBathroom never had paper towel in it :( Also nowhere to fill up water bottles that I found other than the basement
The entire facility was very clean, safe, the elevator even had it's own lock you needed your room key for. The view was wonderful and the room had it's own built in A/C unit

United KingdomMy first room had a great view over toronto, the second, this time, had all of the A/C vents for the surrounding university vuildings and bars. Far noisier night and notably more light coming through the blind that didn't allow the room to go dark.
Well located right next to a tram stop, and easily accessed.

CanadaThe shower water didn’t go very hot which was uncomfortable, but I was also showering quite early so I don’t know if that made a difference. Also the pillows were awful! So uncomfortable, making it hard to sleep.
I liked how secure the building and rooms were, especially as a female solo traveller.

CanadaThe room was incredibly hot and the A/C machine didn’t work that well, if at all. The hallways and common room were very well-ventilated and always cold, but the room had south-facing windows and got a lot of sun during the day, which made it really hot at night.
The location was very accessible since it is so close to Spadina Station and the 510/310 streetcar line. The amenities were bare bones (which I expected) but I appreciated that they gave me a towel.

CanadaThe fab thing is a bit ridiculous. Those who want to lock their doors should be able to, but not required to. Needing an access key for the floor is enough. No need to require a fab to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Very annoying! Also some soap in the kitchen would help, and at least a hot water boiler.
Wasn’t aware there was breakfast?? But I love the location and its great value. Also 45 Willcocks was much quieter than Wilson Hall, newer as well, and the corner unit was extra quiet.

United StatesI was bitten by bed bugs. I reported this incident to the staff during check out. I saw bed bugs twice on the sheets and when I arrived home, I discovered several bites marks on my both arms. This is very unfortunate
The residences was located in a very easy accessible area. You can get the tramp or walk to most of the attractions like CN Tower and Queens St.

FinlandThe closer you are to the communal showers/toilets, the more noise of slamming doors you'll hear - bring silicone ear plugs! Absolutely no thought put into noise dampening, with an open gap under room door to hallway, and the noise from lift shaft reverberated to room - south end rooms better.
Fab location for sites, restaurants, transport, and cool neighbourhoods experience (Toronto's different neighbourhoods are fascinating!). Friendly, cheerful staff at reception. Secure and clean room, albeit quite spartan. Reception did give me a second flimsy blanket to go with my first one. Towels and sheets clean. Bed OK, but something you might expect in a dorm. Very good WiFi.

CanadaThe bathrooms and showers weren't bad, but it's a little awkward walking down the hallway with all of your supplies, particularly if your room is on the far end. Also: a note for tall people - the bed is not XL, so your feet may hang off the end.
The room was clean, in a great location, easy enough to access, and cheap. It's a barebones spot -- just a bed, chair, and desk -- but for exploring the city it's just about perfect.
