How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

I had expected all guests to be wearing masks in the halls and elevators, as had been e-mailed to me. I was very disappointed to find we were the only ones masked!!
The room was great, the beds were comfortable, and towels and linens were changed each day (which we didn't expect), the kitchen was better than expected, as well.

Very sterile feeling, like a hospital. Lighting was terrible and contributed to that. No lights in the bedroom only a small lamp. No cutlery or other dishware despite having a kitchen and food downstairs. Asked front desk for plastic utensils and were told "we arent that type of hotel"
Cheaper alternative for NOTL Within walking distance to the outlet mall, McDonald's and a Starbucks

Lighting is not great. 1 lamp did not work. Carpet is old with heavy stains. Did not have any shops nearby, need to drive atleast 5 mins to get coffee/ any food. Vending Machine did not have any great options.
Good for 1 night stay. Booked this hotel as I did not get any good rooms near Niagara falls. Serves the purpose to take 1 night rest when you have baby & parents. Clean Bed & Restroom is neat. Gave Fresh towels.

15-20 minutes drive from Niagara.
Two room suite at an excellent price. Easily found, clean and comfortable. Good WiFi. convenient parking. Next door to White Oaks resort with cafe and dining.

The room looked like a dorm. The bathroom was very dark, even with lights on. I had to do my makeup on by the window using my phone as a mirror. The bed is not queen/king, it felt a bit small.

The lighting in the kitchen really needs to be improved. The centre light barely provided enough light to see! My carpet had a hole in it, likely from a student chair so that could be improved. I would not be happy as a student with the lighting and the carpet!
The suite was spacious and absolutely clean. The bed was firm but not too bad with decent, looked new, sheets. There were two pillows on a double bed so if you are sharing you might need another pillow. The standard light in my room didn't work (I didn't know until late at night). The kitchen is very basic, there is a fridge and a microwave, both are spotlessly clean. A kettle would be great or coffee maker. However there is a vending room where you can get food, snacks and make tea and coffee for a very reasonable cost. The light in the kitchen was dismal and did not have a cover on it. I reported this on leaving. The TV worked and the shower was spotless and had hot water. There were toiletries, soap, shampoo and lotion. Towels were very clean and felt fairly new. If you expect luxury this is not for you. It is a student res and a pretty basic one but it is inexpensive, near lots of fast food joints, the highway, the outlet mall and provides a clean, basic room (2 bedrooms per unit).

Coffee in machines downstairs was subpar. The area is busy with traffic, as a major highway is nearby. However, the residence is quite remote, so I wouldn’t want to be without a car at night.
friendly attendants, close to outlet mall for great shopping, ability to cycle from the residence to reach bike trails, comfy beds, fridge and microwave, reasonably priced. We were supposed to share the second bedroom in our unit with friends but they couldn’t come due to sickness. I forgot to notify the manager until the end of our 5-day stay, that there were just 2 and not 4 people in the unit. I didn’t get my money back but I was happy to get $30 worth of Tim Hortons’ gift cards in lieu.
