There were some sketchy areas not too far from the hostel. Parking was an extra $12, which really bumped up the nightly rate. There was almost no room for personal food in the kitchen, on the shelves or in the fridge. All the space was taken up by staff food.

Proximity to downtown Ottawa was excellent.

About the Spanish workers they were racism

The bunks could really do with an upgrade or at least tighten the bolts up regularly. There were a few long term people in my dorm (Africa) and they took over the space with lots of luggage and clothes. Maybe put them altogether in one dorm ? This would give others more room. Also a very noisy fan. But all in all was a nice stay thank you 😊

Great location in a nice area near to the major sights, supermarket and transport. Staff were great. The room was OK, and the bed was comfortable if wobbly and squeaky, and the thin iron ladder to the top bunk was painful on the feet. Nice common room with sofas and TV. The Well equipped kitchen with free tea and coffee was a nice touch.

Was here only for a couple of hours to take a nap before leaving the city. Was pretty comfortable.

The place could do with opening windows to change air in the living quarters and a hardwood surface would improve to replace current carpets.

The location was very convenient with restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. The bed was sufficient for my short stay bed covers freshly laundered.

There is an abundant of staff living on site They tend to congregate together playing soccer in the desk area or watching movies together in the only living space. As the space is small to begin with the group of onsite living staff are not at all concerned with hospitality and go out of their way to make you feel like you are an interruption to their leisure agenda.

It was cold during the night, as the heater in the room did not work, but I was provided with a convector heater. Renting a towel is 2 CAD - although that is quite a necessary thing for travellers.

I was alone in my room, because there were too few people in general. It was clean, the location was okay - just 15 minutes walk from major places of interest. The personnel was nice, and kitchen was fine, although not quite good organized - as the sink and oven are distant from each other. There was much of home atmosphere.

The curtain on the shower, a heavier duty one would be more appealing!

The central location. The quirky interior decoration. Easy access to shops, restaurants and public transport. Small but well equipped kitchen and shared areas. Nice and warm. .

The hostel seemed like a shelter for homeless/addicts. We tried to do our laundry in the "basement" and there were two half-naked persons passed out on the couch lol, at least we found out that they were actual guests in the hostels but the whole vibe was just weird.

The rooms itself was fine, not super clean but clean enough I guess. The location is super central but there are a lot of weird people strolling around. The kitchen facilities were fine as well.

You should try to give your guest that interactive welcoming as some of them might have run away from stress, self-rejection and loneliness. Hospitality is broad. What I didn't like most was boredom. I didn't get any staff's name. I said all these to help you avoid meeting a dead body at the breaking of the day in your inn. Try and make it a home away from home.

I like the location of the inn, the quietness of the environment not the staff.
