If the property had a hot tub it would have made the stay even better. The sauna was more of a dry heat which was difficult to stay in for me, but I’m sure other guests probably enjoyed it. The view into the yard is nice but felt like our blinds had to be closed for privacy, unsure if the glass were tinted I should have checked but if not I’d personally enjoy privacy + natural light. However, these are small things!

All of the aesthetic touches were wonderful! If you’re someone who likes taking cute photos, this place had lots of opportunities. Loved the fire pit, I imagine in the summer this would be a great way to meet people. I like the idea of the space creating a community like a hostel whereas traditional hotels don’t really have that.

The room I stayed in this time was a little dim, the lights were too low for me to read before I went to sleep and I had to use my phone to light my book while reading.

I have stayed here a few times when in town for work and the hotel manager remembered me and even took the time to leave me a personal welcome note and to leave me a bag of ice to stock my cooler for the next day before I left for work.

Room is slightly smaller than expected but we get it, not worth complaining about - will just book the bigger room next time.

The diner attached is super cute and quaint and, we loved the space.

The room was a bit cold when we arrived and given that it was winter time, it took a little time to warm up.

Everything was as described and the room was ready for our stay. Staff were very responsive when we called in but otherwise we didn’t have much contact with them. I’d stay again at Penny’s Motel and recommend it to friends.

We were traveling with a dog, so needed to eat in room. Would be helpful to have two chairs.

Everything was very beautiful and well thought out. We loved the nespresso detail in the room. It was very successful in terms of cleanliness and was a 10-minute drive from the ski resort. We will definitely come back!

Im a person who likes to stay super warm, but the max temp that the heater can go is 24 degC. A little higher temp would be nicer

We booked 3 nights over Christmas for overflow sleeping and it was perfect. Looked like a fun apres etc. for use at non-holiday times.

The room was beautiful and well setup. The Nespresso and body care scored bonus points for me. But what I liked best was the warm welcome by the staff and the wholesome experience at Apres. The cocktails were sublime and being able to take them with me to enjoy the bonfire was something to rave about.

It would be nice to have in room fridges, I have food allergies and diet restrictions and have to travel with my own food and keeping a cooler cold in warmer weather is a bit of a challenge, that said, the staff went out of their way to assist me on my first stay getting ice for my cooler to keep my food fresh and remembered this on my second stay and made sure I had extra bags and plenty of ice to keep things fresh once again so I really can't complain at all.

I stayed at Penny's for a work related trip. The ambiance is very nice and relaxing in the yard, the rooms are cozy and well equipped a great place when away from home for work, I really feel comfortable. Thornbury is a quaint little village with a gorgeous waterfront and trails to explore. This little gem makes the whole experience perfect. Staying here for work makes working out of town seem like a little break.

I really can't think of anything I didn't like. This was a nice comfortable place to stay when in town for work.

I loved the easy check in/ out process, the decor in the room was modern and comfortable. Staff was exceptional and went above and beyond with hospitality. I will most certainly be staying here again - if I can book in.
