Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThere is a June 2021 review that mentions the same but the door to get into the penthouse has a lock issue. A bit concerning that it wasn't addressed then or maybe the issue has come back. You have to really make sure it's locked. Twice we returned to find the door was ajar. I would leave and lock it and shake/push on the door and it would unlatch. I never trusted it was locked even when it seemed like it was. The building is secure with a swipe to get in and security guard at the desk but this needs to be fixed properly. Webcam inside penthouse when you enter the penthouse. Only at the entrance. Don't know if functional or a decoy.Found it odd since the security guard has a monitor with multiple cameras for the floors. Don't see the purpose. Should be part of description of booking. Perhaps I missed it. If you are worried about theft fix your lock. What's the webcam going to do...Security is already recording the hallways etc... The furniture is not very comfortable. Ok to sit for a short period but very underwhelming seating for the top floor of a penthouse. They can do way better. I didn't contact the host to get this rectified but I'm confident it would have been but we were there for 3 nights and we had no toilet paper after 2. Only one extra roll was in each of the bathrooms and we had less than a half a roll (if that) when we arrived. Not sure if it's a mistake by the cleaners or they ration it. We had 7 people staying. Also no Kleenex to be found. I know I'm being picky about the paper products but this shouldn't be a "can you spare a square" situation in a penthouse in the financial district. There is a locked cabinet that probably had extra toilet paper but I would have had to wait for a response to get the code to open or someone to come and unlock it. Instead of waiting, we bought a couple rolls ourselves.
Location is excellent and the view is amazing. Instructions provided to access the penthouse were clear and easy to follow. It is a 20 to 30 minute walk to many sights and hot spots. Subway near by an lots of uber drivers within a few minutes if needed. Grocery store and pharmacy within 5 to 7 min walk if needed. Lots of restaurants and also a great dessert shot and restaurant right next to the building. Called the D-Spot. 7 of us stayed at the penthouse. It was spacious enough but was a bit smaller than expected but website pictures are hard to judge. We had enough room for what we needed and for our group. The penthouse was adequately clean. There could be a bit more deep cleaning done. By no means dirty just an extra effort missing. You'll see if you stop and look as you use the kitchen and bathroom. Furniture did the job - see other comment Washer and dryer on site - nice to do laundry before we left. Bathrooms had shampoo, body wash and conditioner which was convenient. Bedrooms were small but good enough for us. We made them work. Quiet building overall. No issues with elevators. When/if we come back to Toronto we will try and book this again.

United StatesThe place needs to be cleaned better. The sofa bed was stained and none of us wanted to use it. Kitchen needs deep cleaning. (A can opener would have been a nice addition.)
spectacular view! Unfortunately it rained quite a bit, but everybody loved the penthouse view when it got cleared up. Very close to other hotels where families were staying.

United StatesThe lamps scattered throughout the penthouse was non functional. Sofa and love seat needs renewed. Very uncomfortable no cushion left. Pillows need renewed. Some blinds did not work. I believe in time these upgrade will occur but to me these were minor. I would still rebook this place.
Truly loved the view. Had a fairly great weather. Was able to be amazed by the vastness of the view. Loved that it was the highest. Great location, great restaurants nearby, Looks like great improvements are coming, lots of construction going on.

Canadathe loud noises in the master bedroom. all night sounded like someone was working in another unit. also not used to city noise. The property was tidy but not clean. there was cleaning product and hair left in tub and bathrooms, dust you can see on the walls in bedrooms and there were sheets I pulled back to get into bed and realized they looked as though they were not changed there was someone else’s body hair in them. also there is no place to hang jackets just dressers and desks in the main entrance. needs some hooks to hang. I have also never stayed at a property with a visible camera. made me wonder if there were more cameras on the property and felt as though we were being watched…
the view was incredible our kids were so amazed they have never been so high up before.

United StatesIt was disgustingly dirty. Dishes were dirty. Pillows were dirty. Walls were dirty. Baseboards were dirty. Utensils were dirty. There was what appeared to be urine on the walls in the main bathroom and urine on the pillows The air conditioning doesn’t work properly, and the electrical breakers kept flipping whenever we tried to charge our phones. The list goes on and on. I have many more disgusting photos, but Booking.com will only let me upload four of them.
View from 50th floor. It could’ve been better if the balcony windows were clean, and the condominium windows were cleaner.

CanadaWhen I arrived at the door to the condo unit, they indicated that it would be unlocked. It was not and I had to wait outside of the unit for 1.5 hours until someone was able to come and let me in. Once inside, I saw that the building maintenance team had been inside to inspect a water leak in the unit. They arrived at the unit a few minutes after I was let in to let us know that loud fans would be blowing all night and that we could not use one of the washrooms. I reached out to the owner and he promised a refund. However, after we had communicated for key drop off, he blocked my number and I have yet to receive a refund. Overall, it was a very unpleasant experience and completely unacceptable.
The view.

Netherlands- AIR CONDITIONING (AIRCO) DIDN’T WORK:We arrived to a place that was at 32 degrees Celsius (see attached pictures), which was unbearable. The listing clearly states there is air conditioning available. When we messaged the owner, he acknowledged that there was actually no working AIRCO at the moment. - FITNESS CENTER UNAVAILABLE: The property advertises a gym, When we asked the owner about it, he said it was only available for long-term tenants. - BAD SMELL: As soon as we opened the door, there was a strong smell of fried Chinese food, which was honestly disgusting. If you don’t like the smell of fish oil, you’ll have a really bad time in this place. - FILTHY: The cleanliness standards of the owner seem to be very different from Western standards. The place was full of dust. We could see hairs in the bathrooms, and there was a colony of dead insects on the floors and windows. - MASTER BEDROOM NOISES: There were very loud noises in the master bedroom, as if someone was jumping on the floor above, or hitting a wall with a hammer. Every single noise from above could be heard. - LACK OF STORAGE SPACE: The apartment has dated and poorly maintained drawer units in the entrance hall and eating area, as well as two closets in the main room. However, all of these were full of the owner's stuff, leaving no space for us to store our clothes. - DATED AND POORLY MAINTAINED: If you are expecting a place like the one shown in the pictures, this is not it. The rooms had lighting systems for 3 bulbs, but only one was working, and it was a super bright neon type. The furniture looked like it had been used for ages and was in very bad shape. REUSED SLIPPERS: The website states they provide slippers. One would assume they are new and packaged like in any decent hotel or spa. However, we were surprised to find a rack full of slippers previously used by other short-term tenants. If you don’t mind using shoes that someone else has worn, then go for it.
The views are stunning (if you are lucky with clear skies)… that’s about it.

United KingdomTidiness - the apartment was extremely dirty, probably not clean in weeks and they charge 120 dollars for cleaning service. There are tones of dust in every single room, bedding with lots of stains, moulded toilets and showers. Faculties - pictures are not reflecting the true state of this place. The apartment is very tired, dirty furniture, walls, most of blinds are broken or missing and this place gets extremely hot in sunny days. Wardrobes - there are many wardrobes is this apartment but only one can be used. Most of them are used as storage for random stuff including washing of the bedding. Parking - this place is advertised with a free parking space. This isn’t true. The parking fob to enter/exit parking didn’t. We have been told at the reception that the parking is not available for guests. The description of this facility is misleading. Poor Communication - we reported all issues we have faced and nothing has been rectified.

CanadaWe had an absolute FIASCO regarding toilet paper during our entire 4 night stay (group of 7). 2 rolls were left for us for 4 nights. - enough to get by for about half a day. We soon ran out and had to reach out to the host. I let Yan know we also didn’t have any paper towel + weren’t supplied with dish rags for the kitchen. As things dwindled we were down to one roll, sharing it between both bathrooms. People would often get stuck on a toilet with nothing to use to wipe, having to scream out to someone to bring the roll over (very humiliating) & we were salvaging every bit. We had to resort to Napkins from the dollarstore, hiding them full of fecal matter in the garbage. Eventually, an Uber eats delivery dropped off a miniature sized pack of toilet paper. We managed with this small amount until we ran out again, and I had to message Yan a 2nd time requesting toilet paper a day or so later. He again sent a tiny pack and we ran into the exact same problem Sunday where we were conserving toilet paper & down to one roll again. Also never received any paper towel. Our group woke up to no running water one morning - very alarming as we had a concert to attend and all of us needed to shower. We checked in with Yan & found out this was scheduled maintenance we weren’t made aware of; he sent me a maintenance notice from the building that proved being notified 5 days prior. This meant nobody could brush their teeth, shower, wash their hands, or flush the toilets. I’m sure you can imagine how embarrassing and disgusting it would be to pee and defecate in the same toilet bowl one after the other, without being able to flush. Cleaner let themselves into into our apartment 1 hour before checkout and would not leave; I was by myself and extremely uncomfortable. Apartment lacked so many things and was dirty.
View is really the only perk. It is what hooked us, unfortunately. Don't fall for it..
