Nice location close, but not too close, to Victoria for shopping, dining & whale watching. Accommodation is an entire basement, perfectly laid out for up to 3 couples, and totally private from the main residence with parking outside the door.

There wasn't any milk provided for coffee / tea. The pillows were flat and a little hard for my liking but that was just on the bed we happened to sleep in. The sound proofing between rooms was pretty flimsy so if someone was watching TV, it could be heard blaring in the next room.

A fantastic property with lots of room and all the facilities you could possibly need to enjoy a fully-catered stay. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen fully-equipped, the Wifi fast, and enough TVs for each of us to watch exactly the program we wanted to watch (if we were so inclined). Our hosts even supplied a bottle of red and white wine for us to enjoy, which was very kind (although we never got around to drinking them). While the main attraction is Victoria, this home is located in a beautiful green area close to shops and restaurants so the fact that it's a 15-minute drive to Victoria didn't bother us one bit.

This property was 15 minutes from downtown Victoria by car. It was an easy drive at any time of day. The house was located on a quiet street, and there were grocery stores and restaurants nearby. Owners were prompt at responding, very polite and accommodating. Overall we enjoyed our stay at this property and would recommend both the property and the city of Victoria as a nice place to visit.

This listing was inaccuraratly categorized as an entire home. I believe the hosts have updated after my feedback. it should be an apartment as it is in the basement of their home. When I book rentals I primarily look for privacy. For the price, I was expecting a private home. We were very aware of the hosts movement upstairs and they have a seemingly friendly dog but it barked at us when we’d arrive and leave and was frequently loose in the entry area of the apartment. (which was presented as a common area for us to use). This wasn’t a big problem for us, but could be for renters with children. We were very aware of the hosts presence so tried to restrict noise and conversation which was less than ideal. Don’t recommend this apt for people with mobility issues as the bathroom has a step up and a very deep tub to step into. The house is located in a tightly packed neighborhood lacking charm and, as you’re in a basement I’d imagine it’s a bit claustrophobic for extended stays. We were only there one night, so that was not a big deal. Living room is small and the couch is a sofa bed so very incomfortable to sit on and very tight accommodations for 4 people. The property would benefit from new towels. deep clean of grout in bathroom and vents and updated living room sofa. Location convenience was somewhat exaggerated as it was 20 min from Buchart Gardens and 20 minutes from downtown.

Hosts were friendly. Property was clean. The hosts left us complimentary wine. It is a well stocked kitchen with everything you’d need to cook.

The beds were not great at all. One had a broken, creaky frame (we were told the previous guest had broken it and they were waiting for a replacement to arrive). This being a basement, the floor wasn't entirely level, which meant that all beds leaned a bit to one side -- you could feel this lying down. Also the floor creaks everywhere, so you can't have people awake and about while others are trying to sleep. But the worst thing was the purported sofa bed. That's just misleading. It's a portion of a sectional, and it doesn't open; you sleep on the cushions, gaps and everything. There was no bedding for it, and when we asked, they gave us a sheet for it, but no blanket. We needed four beds, so on the second night two of us had to share a bed because that "sofa bed" was just unusable.

This is a beautiful, fully furnished basement unit in a VERY quiet location.
