How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Just a bt dark. It benefitted from a sofa in the lounge rather than a big snuggle chair.
Such a friendly host when I spoke to her on the phone. Very quiet, safe area and good equipment in the kitchen. Very spacious but a bit dark in the ground-floor flat but we were able to sit out in the sun in the evening.

We had a delayed flight so didn't arrive until after midnight. Only slept and used the bathroom. The shower is a little on the small side.
The mattress and pillows were so so comfortable.

The heating us just behind the bedroom wall and is very noisy, woked up couple of times during night. You hear the owners from above when walking and talking

The furnace was a little noisy at night. Didn’t really bother us. A few more amenities in the kitchen would be good…eg glasses!
Quiet neighbourhood, close to family in Steveston, ample parking, good wifi, comfy bed.

The feet noise it waken me up. Peoples upstairs with heavy feet will not put me to sleep and it’s already fast 11: at night.
This place no breakfast! But they provide coffee. It’s good they have hot kettle and microwave but no toaster.

Shower was a bit small and dark - a lighter shower curtain would fix that.
Big comfy bed. We didn't use the kitchen or watch TV as we had other plans, but the bed was extremely comfortable.

Great place in general! The only thing was the heater (I believe) that was right behind the wall near the bed that was getting loud at night, not sure if it's possible to change smh about it. It was not all the time loud, more turning on and off, but may bother somebody with sensitive sleeping. In one of the Airbnb we had cotton swabs provided, it was really great. This time we forgot them and remembered that previous Airbnb =)) But this is not a complain, it is more like a recommendation. A bit far if you need to go to downtown Vancouver, especially if you don't have a car.
Quiet area, nice Airbnb place in the ground floor of the house. It has a huge bed, comfortable to sleep, with the kitchen area where you can use fridge, coffee maker, microwave. Bathroom has everything necessary, it is clean and warm. Very comfortable place, I would recommend this place to everyone who needs to be in Richmond or prefers quiet place=) There is a garage provided (first time we had it in Vancouver area=)) The communication was clear and nice! We really liked this house! Thank you so much!

I really liked the vacation!! Friendly hosts, cozy and clean rooms, fresh towels, personal hygiene products. Even outdoors on the terrace! There is everything you need for a good rest! We will definitely come back to you again!

The kitchen equippment is far to poor for cooking. This should be optimized.
Beautiful and large rooms with fully equipped. We stayed for one night and will come back, when we are in Richmond BC. Ther is a huge balcony, just perfect for BBQ.

Ventilation. Electric fan is not working in the master’s bedroom while the other room could use another unit.

This property located in a quiet community, convenient for us to drive there, it is spotless clean, has everything we need, smooth check in process, we did not meet the owner, but he is nearby, and always response messages. We would definitely come again.

Everything was great, the only thing was that it was quite a hot day so the evening was slightly uncomfortable as there was only 1 fan. Once it cooled down it was easier to sleep.
Close to the airport, great beds and pillows, great host who communicates well. Everything we needed.

The cleanliness or lack of it! Upon arrival there was spent coffee in the coffee machine and a big wad of hair in the sink, unacceptable! The fridge and microwave were not clean! No washcloth in the bathroom, just hand towel and bath towel only. The shower floor was slippery! Living room poorly furnished for 2 people.
Location was fine and overall our stay was passable, the bed was comfortable
