How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The room was a bit in the small side , parking slots were too few.
The biggest plus is the location as well as the palms restaurant below. Conveniently located to most of the interesting spots in downtown victoria as well as close to some bus stops that can take you out further. The palms restaurant had a great drink and food menu and made us come back for more.

Beautiful hotel in a fabulous walkable location. The staff were amazing...I had a problem with my room and they immediately accommodated. Pleasant and super helpful. Nice clean rooms and convenient (and tasty) bar and restaurant below.

The rooms were clean, spacious and beautiful. Coffee and fruit available in the morning was a nice touch. The staff were helpful and friendly!

Parking situation sucks!! You can park free 8pm-8am on the street, but there is a very big homelessness population and we were a bit stressed leaving anything in the car. We also managed JUST to squeeze into a spot (thank goodness for tiny cars) Or you can pay $25 to park underground across the street.
Staff was so wonderful. Location was fantastic and our room was clean.

Dirty shoe prints in the bathroom after the cleaning one day. Not a big deal, but I thought that I would mention it as an FYI.
Friendly, helpful staff. Great location, great restaurant.

Bed was not super comfy.
Felt safe, was central, love the architecture, friendly staff, lots of light in the rooms-big windows. Great location, great vibe, cute compact room. I will return!

Milk for the coffee and better coffee.
Location is excellent and though on a Main Street not very noisy. Room was super clean and a nice size. Nice bath products from Italy!

The room was the smallest we have ever had in a hotel room. Having to park across the street wasn’t the greatest. There was no room at first so we had to park at another garage and move the car twice

The key fobs kept not working, had to go back multiple times to get new ones. Key would work on the elevator and then not work to open the room door

When we stayed before Covid they included a beautiful buffet breakfast and it was less expensive.This time they just had a small table with fruit and coffee (which was empty)

The parking situation (free vs. pay and where) was a bit confusing. We requested a quiet room and while it was courtyard facing, to avoid the street noise, it was right next to the ice machine, which was surprisingly used during the night and very early in the morning.
Room was big, with nice big windows and big bathroom; bed was very comfortable. Hotel itself was lovely.

Mattress was a bit soft for our taste and although the windows were triple glass, we woke up a few times during the night as our room was facing Douglas Street and had late night partyers, ambulances, etc.
Central location, modern rooms, clean. And we loved the hotel bar (The Palms): beautiful ambiance and excellent cocktails!

The concierge this morning was excellent. He was chipper and helped us find what times we needed for the bus to the ferry twice. He also made sure we knew where we could find a good breakfast. A very helpful positive man who would probably be good in management. We left a bag of books behind and the front office phoned us when they found them and said they would send them tomorrow. This is a relief.

the parking lot not on the site. if you have baby with you, make sure one person have the baby in the hotel. other people can park the car. if your kids are older and able walk the stairs then you are fine.
