How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

We felt uncomfortable walking around in the room, especially in the morning as when we arrived, we were asked to be quiet and the floors were squeaky on the second floor.
The property was easy to find. The bed was super comfy and the shower was spacious!

The host did not provide breakfast. The kitchen did NOT have salt or pepper, paper towels, utensils, or sufficient cooking utensils for my wife to prepare our meals.
The host was friendly and the price reasonable. The basement unit was large and clean.

The room was a bit hot and stuffy. We had a fan, but we also had to keep a dehumidifier running because we were in a room in the basement and it smelled a bit musty. There was only one small window to the outside for fresh air.
It was spacious, clean, and quiet. The hosts were very nice.

The location of this property was close to Tea Hill Park, walking trails , a short drive to groceries and also to Charlottetown. We were welcomed to use the kitchen and all of the appliances. It was very clean and comfortable and Anna the host was attentive to our needs.

The bathroom is small but functional. The sound proofing isn’t great. Can hear people upstairs walking around and TV sound. Fortunately the person who stayed upstairs is relatively quiet.
The location is very close to Tea Hill beach that is good for clam digging. The room is spacious and clean. The owner is friendly.

They should not call it a bead and breakfast as there is NO breakfast. They do provide a kitchen area and utensils, but no food. Coffee is available for you to brew yourself.
Anna is very friendly and does reply to emails. The room was clean and it had a good size tv. The bed was comfy and clean.

Bathroom was tight but adequate.
Large room with 2 double beds and a sitting area. Accommodation was clean and quiet. Owner was polite and welcoming. Price was good.

Coffee was supplied, kitchen was available for guests to prepare their own meals, large clean well equipped kitchen, guest room was exceptional in every way, large bathroom with heart shaped tub, walk in shower, large windows with beautiful water views, large walk in closet..

Our host was very friendly. Unfortunately, English is not her first language so it was a challenge at times to gather more information about the island and driving directions.
Our room was spacious and clean. Comfortable bed. The location in Stratford was ideal for exploring Charlottetown and many parts of the island. Very good price for the room, probably because it's not in Charlottetown.

We had a few issues getting the heat going (it used an unusual, not intuitive system) but the owner was there to explain it. We were surprised to find that only Netflix was provided, which we couldn’t get to work.
The Seaview White House is six km. from the capital city and seemed to suit the parameters we were looking for. The property is privately held but not a B&B; I booked a ”family” suite on the second floor. Upon arrival, it proved to be a well-appointed suite with a very large bathroom (twin underset sinks over antique cabinets, jacuzzi tub, large walk-in shower), master bedroom with a king-size sleigh bed, daybed and futon. The location is a great jumping off point to explore the capital city.

Communication with the host can be bit challenging, because of poor English language. But the host is very nice, doing her best to accommodate. P.S. no breakfast, have to ask for coffee.

The mattress is not supporting the body at all. my son and my husband complain the bed very much.
We have suite, 2 beds and connected washroom in second floor. It is private. We can open windows and get fresh air in this covid period. it is very good.

Woman running the place seemed to be micromanaging your every movement as soon as you left your room. Repairs need to be done in some areas like cracked ceilings etc.

They have a kitchen for guest but they don't have plates or cutlery. They have microwave but no plates.

There's not too much I didn't like about this place other than the landscape was OK the trees need to be trimmed up a little bit other than that it was quite nice quite quiet thank you
