Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

CanadaIt was overpriced for what was provided. It took us a minute to find where we were actually supposed to check in, when we entered we were greeted with patched together carpet, not a big deal, but a little off putting. On our way up the stairs we were told the air conditioning doesn’t function in our room, with a southwest facing window in the Okanagan, the room was very warm. Our host was kind enough to turn the air conditioning on while we went out for dinner. It was slightly cooler but still too warm, we ended up opening a window and putting the fan on the window sill, which worked well enough. When we came back from dinner we were locked out of the house. We tried calling our host to no avail, thankfully another guest heard us struggling and let us in. The bed not very comfortable, the mattress was a little lumpy and the pillows are not the best quality. We signed up for 7 am coffee and 8 am breakfast, I don’t know why we did this as we had to make our own. We were provided with bread (I am gluten sensitive) granola which my husband can’t eat, frozen blueberries (we live in the Okanagan with fresh fruit everywhere!) Greek yogurt, peanut butter and jam. I grabbed honey which after I put it on my toast which I should not have eaten, but thought it was a better option than the milk I won’t consume, was informed he wasn’t sure where it came from but thought another guest left it behind. Slightly off putting, but I ate it. There were pictures of a beautiful hot tub that what was what enticed my husband to book there, it was covered in webs and clearly hasn’t been running in some time. The price for what we experienced was not worth it. I am not normally a high maintenance person, but I feel this should be advertised as an Airbnb not a bnb.
The hosts were kind and friendly, the location was great, the view from our bedroom was lovely.

CanadaOne of the nation reasons I book bed and breakfast places is the usually the great, home made breakfast available. Sadly in here, they offer there most lackluster Continental breakfast. There are very few items available, far better than in the average hotel breakfast and when making fairly simple requests, like having an egg, the answer is that I can go and supply myself. That makes for a somewhat disappointing end to an otherwise very pleasant stay.
The location was great, nice, out of the way and quiet. The room was spacious and comfortable and the hosts were very nice.

CanadaAs the website stipulated, breakfast was to be included and credit card was an option for payment. However upon arrival, we were informed that there was no breakfast (as described) as the owner was away and hadn't updated the website. This was an inconvenience as we were expecting it as part of our stay and part of the reason for booking this property in the first place. The website also stipulated that the property accepted credit card payment, which they did not. Upon arrival we were informed that only cash or e-transfer were to be accepted.
The caretaker(s) were lovely, and the kitchen facilities were more than adequate. Thankfully, they had provided a few necessary food items for breakfast as the breakfast described on the website was not being offered.

United KingdomThe kitchen and kitchen equipment were not very clean, probably because the owner was detained abroad. The lack of a TV in the bedroom would be a problem for many, but wasn't for us.
