Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaWhat I didn’t like about the property was that the washer wasn’t working during our stay the breaker was shut down for it because of a leak…host or management never messaged about that. Also, lightbulbs in the bathroom weren’t working properly.
I really like the space and the modern style of the apartment. Also love, the fact that they had extra amenities and a coffee maker. It was also very clean and tidy and minimalistic also loved the balcony so we could go out for some fresh air.

PolandThe fact that you have to send your passport scan and a photo with you holding the id I find rather unacceptable. The PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act) in Canada clearly is not observed here as the host/business does not inform about how data is handled, stored, post-processed etc. Similarly it is odd to ask customers to pay the deposit through PayPal. The apartment house has foyer staff downstairs that handles the keys, entry times and logs other data for people staying in the apartment. It would be more professional to handle credit card/financial/personal data there since they do look at personal IDs on arrival anyway.
I liked the location and the view from the apartment. The place was clean and very comfortable for 1 person. Even for 2 people is definitely a treat.

BulgariaThe description of the property was misleading and incorrect. The apartment was described as 2 separate bedroom and 2 separate bathroom one. In reality, it was with only one bedroom, the “second” bedroom was an attachment to the appartment main living room, separated by a curtain and not very practical and inconvenient. There was no second bathroom, instead there was a washing machine room, totally useless for a stay of 2 days. As we were traveling with friends, our main argument to book this property was the presence of 2 separate bedrooms and bathrooms. Also, our booking was changed on arrival with no prior notice, which made the check-in confusing and inconvenient. The listing in Booking was done by an agency, not a direct property owner, which made the communication more difficult, we needed to fill-in documents and provide documentation twice - obviously because of lack in communication between the agency and the real property owner. We were requested to provide pictures of our passports (for all the visitors) via e-mail, which doesn’t comply with any GDPR regulations. The agency has not assisted in anyway, after we complained about the descrepancy with the listing in Booking, instead they just stopped replying to my messages. In addition, a deposit of 200$ was requested, which had to be returned within 7 days after check-out, but it was paid via PayPal in a strange way and is still not returned. Despite of the good location of the property, the rest was really disappointing.

GermanyWe were a group of 4 people and were only given one key to the apartment. After contacting customer service they quickly promised to find out if we would be able to have another key but they never get back to us again. This was a real problem because you couldn't even enter the building or use elevators without the key. Also locking the door from outside wasn't possible without the key meaning person leaving last needed to have the key, and that person was also the one who needed to arrive back first to let others in. Also there was no possibility to store our luggages, or check out later. Regarding the equipments of the apartment, the place only had one small mirror which was in the bathroom. This was not ideal for a bigger group of people.
Apartment was clean and well equipped with a very nice view. Also the location was good, check-in worked smoothly and customer service answered messages quickly.

CanadaI had to go a take the key in a sketchy location with a numero in Niue written on a black box (terrible choice). I didn’t meet anyone from the renting company to greet me and show me the amenities , like in my other stays through booking. Even if I was changed for the cleaning fee, I was suggested to leave the apartment clean and collect the garbage in one location. Nonetheless I paid via booking, they requested me to send a screenshot of the booking and a document via email, which is an insecure way to send documents because it’s prone to identity theft by 3rd party. The deposit was requested and charged outside booking and directly via link from the company, which makes all a bit worrisome (I had it back as stated). I’m used to have a pre-approval of change that is void after my leave instead of a surcharge that is billed and sent me after 7 business days. The place was clean but not too much: the fridge stinks , the bathroom rug is full of hair and not the best. In the dryer there were only the pillow cases and the towels, nothing else.
The location and view are very good. It’s a full apartment with kitchen and some appliances.

CanadaThe only disappointment was the late check-in 1600, which we had no say in, okay. But the fiasco with the key not being available, pushed our plans back, everything was late after that. We missed the beginning of our show. Sad.
Property was just fine.

CanadaThe apartment is advertised as `up to 4 people', but I really can't recommend using it with more than 2. The sofa bed in the living room is of the kind where you basically sleep on the couch pillows, *not* a proper mattress. They are uneven and lumpy and back pain is guaranteed. (The bed in the bedroom is fine.) There were lots of plates and glasses, but exactly 1 tablespoon (and not a lot of other utensils either)---definitely not enough for 4. The fridge also had a strong smell and needs a thorough cleaning, not just a box of baking soda standing around.
Great location, close to CN tower and the aquarium. The apartment is part of a big building, with most apartments seemingly used for short-term rentals (lots of people with suitcases, lots of lockboxes outside the entrance door on the fences). Despite that it was quiet. The key pickup was unusual (from a lockbox at a not-very-close convenience store---be sure to bring the picture that they send you, or you will have *no* idea which of the dozens of lockboxes that hang there is yours). The extra-deposit via paypal was also rather strange. But both went without trouble.

CanadaThe parking fob has a little round button that you have to push while pointing it at the scanner in order to get in. You also need to do this in order to get to your floor in the elevator. The bathroom sink and toilet could have used a better clean but Globalstay said they would pass it onto their cleaning team. After I made the booking, Globalstay asked me for a $400 deposit instead of $200 because it was the holiday season. Booking.com worked with me to honour the $200 deposit that is advertised. I understand the reason for this policy but it should be transparent at the time of booking.
The location is IDEAL. Very walkable, I wish we stayed longer. We had booked another apartment originally but there was a flooding issue, so Globalstay contacted me and gave me a few options to choose from. They honoured the same price. The parking was confusing at first but I texted the globalstay number and they answered me immediately. It was nice knowing my car was safe overnight. There were coffee supplies in the cupboard which we didn't need, but good to have. I read ALL the reviews that I could before and after booking so I knew the check-in process would be a bit tricky, and I knew that I needed to take photos of the place when I checked in and out. I also knew if there were any issues that I needed to tell Globalstay DURING my stay so they could resolve them. They answered my texts promptly. I got my $200 deposit back 6 days after check-out.

Canada- Got asked way too many documents after completing the booking. Passport, driver licenses, even a selfie + 200$ security deposit on a separate invoice. - very Inconvenient check in process. Had to walk a few blocks away in to a grocery store and then find a lock attached on the wall and get the key there (???). When I finally got the key, I had to go up in the appartment in order to pick up the garage key, which wastes time and was frustrating. The whole check-in "system" looks like a "hack" that might be convenient for the owner, but it doesnt look professional, without much care for the guest experience. - Garage instructions provided were incorrect, which made me waste more time. - Google Drive instructions document sometimes wouldn't load so I couldn't find the wifi password when I needed it again. - Balcony was dirty + some fake grass astro turf was laying there but didnt even fit properly. It really showed that zero care has been thought into that. - Shower floor wasn't very clean - listing showed sauna/hot tub facilities, but no clear instructions were provided on how to access it. When I messaged Globalstay they suggested to ask the building reception to see if its available. I think this should be clear in the description if its something that is offered or not + instructions.
