How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Mattress is worn, not super comfortable.
Beautiful location, very friendly staff. Loved the covered patio, as it poured and we still could sit outside. Just minutes away from the National park, beaches and numerous choices for meals

The driveway could use some tending to.

Our cabin was very clean and well located. It is near the Ingonish beach and hiking trails. Sylvie the owner made sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again.

Friendly and helpful owners who went out of their way to assist us. They assisted us with a toaster and a few other things. very quiet but we liked that after a long day of hiking and exploring. would definitely come back! thank you!

The little cabins are divided in two so it can be a little bit noisy, according to the neighbors you have. You can hear people's conversation on their balcony. but that being said, that's a 9/10 place. Everything else is AMAZING! :)
Well located and super super clean, plus the owners are really helpful and welcoming. I highly recommend this place.

The fridge was a little noisy during the night.
We had a wonderful stay at Skyline Cabins! The owner was super sweet and gave us many good recommendations! The stay was perfect :)

Only complaint was shared deck could be a bit awkward. A second set of steps would be helpful so you didn't have to walk past strangers relaxing/socializing to get to you room.

Kitchen floor was a bit dusty wife said her feet were dirty just walking around room. Would have been nice to have a night light as my wife didn't like me turning on the bathroom light in the middle of the night.
Place was nice and guiet. Room was well layed out. Nice there is a restaurant ( not open on Thursdays)just accross the street. A liquor store a few feet from property. Close to Highland Park entrance and beach isn't far away. They also have gas grill you can use

That we had to leave. If all the cabins weren't already booked we would probably have changed our plans and stayed another night. If we go to the Cabot Trail again we will always make sure to stay here. We will definitely be recommending Skyline Cabins to friends and family.
Everything! The look and feel of the Cabins and area was so peaceful and relaxing from the moment you see the property. The owners were on-sight and available at all times and were so people friendly and thoughtful. I thought the cabin had a kitchen so I didn't bring cooking utensils or really anything I needed. The owner realized that and had things I needed on hand and lent them to us, without my even asking. Now that's is above and beyond to me. And I want to thank you Sophie for your attention to detail and pleasant manner. I only met your husband once but he was also very pleasant and helpful.

Owners were very helpful in arranging laundry for me which was important since I was travelling by bicycle with limited luggage and needed daily laundering. The room was clean and the air conditioning was already on when I arrived - just what I needed after a long hot day on the road. The location was also great. Right on the Cabot Trail across from a restaurant that I could walk to. I’ll definitely stay there again next time I cycle around the Cabot Trail.

Very clean, simple cabins with a lovely little outdoor patios. The cabins are spotless and the beds are comfortable - great place to stay after exploring the area. The owners are so friendly and accommodating - it's very family friendly and in a great location for exploring Ingonish. This was our second time staying here and we'll be back again.

Could hear people next door walking around. Wifi did not work most of our stay. Room slightly small.
