Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeNo personal complaints, but do note that there are no TVs in the rooms.
Beautiful large rooms (we booked two of the three available), with stunning furnishings and design. The rich circus history is brought to life in quirky design details and the record players in each room (and selection of records) is not something I have ever seen before. The bathrooms were wonderfully designed and spacious. A wonderful stay - I wish it could have been longer! The service was also impeccable and enhanced our stay immensely.

United StatesAbsolutely nothing.
The rooms are gorgeously decorated with comfy beds and bathroom with shower and claw foot soaking tub. We loved using the record player in the room with a choice of albums in the hall. The included brunch is one of the delicious choices off the restaurant’s brunch menu. Not to be missed. And the staff is so friendly and on top of every detail.

GermanyNothing in fact, maybe one small thing: the bed was a bit too soft.
Very tastefully decorated room and bathroom. Breakfast can be served in the room until 10am, but it is worth waiting until 10am for brunch downstairs or on the patio, if you have the time. The parking lot is located right next to the entrance of the guest house. The food is fantastic, creatively designed and tastes great. In fact, the history of "Slaymaker & Nichols" is interesting and should be read in advance by the guests. In fact, "Slaymakers & Nichols" is a first-class restaurant, which also offers three rooms for guests.

CanadaWe had such a wonderful stay here. The room was quaint and the bathroom had a fabulous claw foot tub. The inn was centrally located and had excellent food and cocktails. But the absolute standout was the staff! They went above and beyond to make sure we had a good stay and were so friendly we just enjoyed being there. It was also so lovely to have coffee and tea brought up in the morning - a real treat.

United StatesEveryone always smiled; was always friendly, the downstairs bar/restaurant was superb. In 3 nights, we ate dinner there twice in a town full of seafood restaurants; and it was always busy. The breakfast is included with your room; order off the brunch menu as you like. A French press coffee was delivered to our room each morning. The owner was on site daily, chatted daily. He and his wife also own the Blue Mussel seafood restaurant in Rustico, which is hard to get reservations, but he called them and had them put us on the list. The hotel location is one small block from the main touristy area, quiet but close.

CanadaFrom the moment we arrived we were greeted with smiling and welcoming faces ! The staff was quick to help us settle to our room and even helped bring the suitcases to the room ! We stayed in General Scott room which was both gorgeous and comfy ! And the added bonus of the balcony was definitely a plus ! We enjoyed very many incredible brunches here as well as indulged in dinner one evening ! Both food and drinks here were incredible ! Special shout out to Brady and Tommy for being such great people to chat with daily you definitely made our stay very enjoyable ! But truly all the staff here are so accommodating , great at remembering lots about us and inquiring about our days ! It felt like family by the end of the week ! We would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat and recommend it to all who come to Charlottetown as it is walking distance as well to so much !

United StatesIt is advertised as a bed and breakfast, however breakfast in the dining room is not available until 10. It is a pretty late start to the day and if you stay there for business or need an earlier start don't stay here. We had breakfast one day and it was great. The other option is a charcuterie board, delivered to your room with coffee. It had selection of meat, cheese, yogurt, minimal fruit lots of pickles- a very unappealing high fat meal. Muffins, fruit, yogurt, bread, jam all go better with coffee. You made your coffee with a press 2nd cup was cold.
Beautiful room, staff was very friendly, bed was very comfortable. There is a lovely deck off the room, unfortunately we could not use it due to the weather but it is a lovely feature.

United StatesI thought the breakfast, which was lovely could have been changed on different days. I am not a huge fan of breakfast meats, so that was a big portion of the breakfast. Also, water being offered in the room, would be nice.
Lovely place. Nice room. The staff was amazing but limited. After check in, I saw the staff when I went to ask a question. Perhaps more interaction, after checking in would be recommended. The room was nice.

CanadaAll was amazing.
All aspects of the property were at or above expectation - so much character in the building and rooms; welcoming staff; amazing breakfast (read in my top 3); a clean, comfortable room; walkable downtown location; peaceful and quiet overnight; not to mention having the option to eat a very delicious locally sourced meal in their restaurant. I read a lot of reviews before booking, and overall the reviews were excellent, with the usual small items people thought could be improved. One of the things that impressed me the most about this place is that during my stay, I started noticing that the items people had negatively called out in previous reviews had been addressed/corrected . (I counted 6 items in total that had been addressed - which I believe accounted for every negative comment) Not many places actually listen and change based on customer comments; but obviously this property strives to provide the best experience possible. Kudos to you for being so adaptable and forward thinking. Thank-you for a wonderful stay!

CanadaThat we had to leave 😄
The breakfast was amazing. Fresh pressed coffee, yogurt, fruit, pastries, several different cheese and meat. Brought up fresh to our room. China cups and plates. Fancy silverware. Nice wine glasses. The room was comfy and cozy with beautiful finishings and decor. Bed was perfect. Bathroom had soaker tub and separate huge shower. Separate and private patio. Absolutely loved our stay. Tommy was so friendly and attentive to all our needs and questions. I highly recommend this wonderful place.
