The view from the cottage during daytime and that too in the morning is beyond words. The host is really good and he is very friendly and very supportive. Its really hard to find a superb host and the facility that matches your expectation. The facilities in the cottage is really impressive and the view in the background is something you have to see it to experience it. Words don't do justice to the view.

I booked well in advance, for 5 adults. So we got a suite room. But when we got there, there was only room for 4 adults and then the 5th person had to sleep on a "cot" which was not set up in the room when we arrived. And then sadly they dropped of an air mattress that we had to blow it up ourselves! The main office also needed some cleaning up, as it had a alot of junk sitting around in it. I just didn't feel these things were very professional. I am normally not one to complain, but these things were a bit disappointing in my experience.

I've stayed here many times in the past. The setting is stunning as usual. It was clean in our room. New owners were very nice.

Couldn't get the TV going and get any channels. But that was maybe a bonus, so we could enjoy nature, reading and quietness.

The location was amazing, the view from the bedroom so calming and beautiful. No fuss with checking in or checking out. A simple place in a location where there is lots to see and do. The restaurant next door was great! Would recommend.

Found it difficult to communication with management before we arrived. Units are not actually in Baddeck, but are about 20 mins away in the car. Need to pick up provisions before you arrive.

Self contained unit with lovely outlook over the lake. Good position for start of Cabot Trail.

Only thing missing was a laundry.

Although the motel is an old building, it was very comfortable inside, with a TV, microwave and fridge. Bed linen and towels were of excellent quality and a new bath/shower unit provided plenty of hot water. Vince was very friendly and helpful.

Restaurant hours

We enjoyed everything about the place accept the only restaurant close was closed before supper…our host was fantastic (Vince) very friendly and chatty…. We hope to visit again 😊

The bed was OK but could be more comfortable . After staying in several places on this trip I find carpet , no matter how clean, carries allergens. I like that many are now going with vinyl plank flooring .

Beautiful setting on a lake . Next door is a full restaurant so after travelling that was handy .

We arrived at onset of storm Fiona. Vince was jovial and helpful. Exactly what was needed during a stressful time. Although right in the water the room was amazingly quiet.

a little more supplies, and we would like to be able to sit outside on the water side with access from the room we were in, but it was still very nice, we had trouble with the tv channels but told staff and they came and solved it right away, we were just not use to it.

No air-conditioning

New Owner was very friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable, beautiful view and clean. Only thing l would suggest is air conditioning. Restaurant next door was good, had dinner it was delicious.

Great location to explore the Cabot trail. 20 ish minutes to some amazing food in Baddeck. Each room has a huge window looking out over the water. Vince the owner was super welcoming.

There is a lot of traffic on the highway above the property. Large trucks braking were pretty annoying overnight and intruded on the solitude watching the water and birds in the morning As with any waterside properties, the linens felt damp. Heat pump units to remove the moisture from the air would help. Not a deal-breaker, but the dampness made the bedding feel limp and even our clothing by the third day had a "damp" feel to it.

We stayed in the cottage on the water. It's a rural location right at the base of the Cabot trail, so very close to everything. The cottage has a separate bedroom, living/kitchen area and bath. You could easily cook here if you didn't want to eat out. Very quiet stay and wonderful view out the sliding glass window. Easy to get to everything we wanted to do over the weekend. Nice little area to sit outside and watch the water. The owner was very helpful and amicable; we sort of felt like we were staying at a relative's house in some ways.
