A minor thing in some ways, but significant. Why have a coffee maker and then only provide instant coffee?

Sadly, the restaurant next door was not open in early May (so the cooking facilities were much appreciated!)

A standard motel room--a little old but with thoughtful amenities (fridg, toaster, coffee, etc) and a scenic location right on the water! Good base for driving the Cabot Trail.

No shower curtain.. they probably forgot to put it up and it was too late to call and report. Also, even though there was a toaster, coffee maker, kettle, microwave plus refrigerator, there were no dishes or utensils. Great location and good value for the rate we paid.

Currently (March 2024) the WiFi doesn't quite extend as far as room 8, which was of course where we were staying!

The view was lovely (although a bit misty as we were staying out of season) and it's in a nice central location.

Unfortunately there were a couple small maintenance issues such as the shower making a weird noise when in use, and the lampshade lining being broken (the light still worked, just the lampshade).

The location is great, perfect as a jumping off point for Cape Breton and exploring the local towns, but also surprisingly peaceful for being so close to a main road. The view across the water is stunning, even on more gloomy days. Additionally, Vince and Tina were super helpful and knowledgeable about the local area, and speaking to them both was a pleasure.

Nothing. Late check- in was accommodated, area advice was exceptional, extremely clean and tidy and comfortable room.

Pleasantly suprised - was expecting a budget strip hotel and instead had extremely high level of personal service from all staff, high quality inclusions in the room and a view for morning sunrise (or evening sunset) over the water that was exception. Yes, this may appear to be a standard hotel room, but the managers have gone all out to add nice touches (types of products provided for bathrooms and kitchen) that raise the standard quite a lot

The location of this motel is great, on the water, with great views. While the property is a bit worn, the rooms are priced accordingly and the space was comfortable. Staff was friendly and generous with information about the area, including eating spots in nearby Baddeck.

The Bathroom need and update.

Good accommodation, very well located in the area of ​​St Annes Bay, perfect for travelers doing the Cabot trail. The price-quality ratio is very good, the rooms and furniture are a little dated, however, nothing to worry about. The view from the rooms is dreamlike. The manager very friendly.

We liked everything

Very friendly owners. Helpful and knowledgeable in helping to plan our cabot trail trip. We had it all backwards and they mapped out the better way. Very thankful for that it made our trip much more enjoyable.

Our host was awesome! Made mom and I feel very welcome when we arrived. The three of us had a great chat, plus he gave us some great suggestions for dinner in Baddeck. The view over the lake, from our room, was beautiful. Comfy beds!

This was a blast from the past as it is a motel that we don't usually get to expericence. All rooms are waterfront with big windows to enjoy. The property is older but nicely maintained and equipped with comfy beds and kitchenette. It was a great start for our trip around the Cabot Trail.

The facilities in the room were basic. No plates, or cutlery save for one teaspoon and the furnishings were worn and mismatched. The bed was queen size and not very comfortable. Unfortunately, there was minimal outdoor furniture facing the bay and it was not possible to sit outside and enjoy the bay view and afternoon sun which was a shame. The wooden bench and chair provided outside the entrance to each motel room had little merit.

The motel has an excellent location on the bank of St Anns Bay. It is also at the starting point of the west side of the Cabot trail. Our motel window looked directly on to the Bay. On our last afternoon, we saw a bald headed eagle alight on a nearby jetty and watched this magnificent bird for twenty minutes or more before it was disturbed and flew away. A highlight of our holiday.
