How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

I was on first floor which was very very noisy. Kids running down hall and others talking loudly all at midnight! Second floor is much quieter.
Friendly staff. Close to amenities.

The room included a kitchenette but there were no dishes, cookware or utensils to prepare meals. Very thin walls and could hear everything upstairs and in hallway.

Check-in was a nightmare with the payment from booking.com not reflecting in the hotel’s system. Reception was inept and despite umpteen requests to get the manager on the phone, the receptionist did not do that and ‘cried’ to the manager that she was being harassed with the manager threatening to call the police on me. Never before in my travel history has this ever happened. Horrible customer care skills of the receptionist Ms. Harmanpreet (or similar!).
The room was well-furnished, good facilities and comfortable.

It looked run down and was dark in the hallways. Didn’t like the smells coming from all the rooms. Felt a little uncomfortable - my daughter was nervous. Just the vibe of the building. Room was fine.

Basic cleaning done in rooms. Cabinets, inside fridge, and many other things were dirty. Our room was changed right off the bat as the bathroom fan didnt work, cleanliness was horrible and some other issues in out first room, which were also issues in the next room but oh well. Shower head was partially working and water pressure was horrible. Apparantly recently renovated... very cheaply

The kitchenette had bare minimum equipment, one bowl, three forks, one cooking spoon, not sure about glasses, maybe three plates. They advertise as a long term stay hotel but you would have to scrounge stufff to do much food preparation. The room was very basic, very bland. The second floor smells of old smoke like it has maybe been painted over but you still smell it a bit. I booked at booking.com about twenty minutesbefore arriving and decided to prepay at Booking.com -bad idea. When I arrived they refused to accept an Ontario Health card as government issued photo if (WTF??? Is Health Canada not a government organization? When I explained that I have temporary paper drivers license with no photo they asked to see my passport. Sorry but I live in town here… I don’t carry my passport around with me. Grudgingly they finally took my address off the temporary drivers license They then insisted on charging an additional $200 deposit for a one night stay, which came off the card immediately and I had to ask for a refund when I checked out. What was the point of prepaying? It didn’t save me any time I still had to pull out the credit card and jump through their administrative hoops. To top it all off the fire alarm was going off the whole time I was checking in with no ETA on when it would be shut off Frustrated with the process and the noise, I asked for a refund for the prepaid booking I made twenty minutes ago. They refused Not in the least bit impressed. The room served a function but to be honest I would have been happier just sleeping in the car :(
Relatively cheap place to stay, close to most thing in Mississauga including the airport

Got up to go to the bathroom and saw a small bug scurry away with the light coming on. Intermittent Pounding on the floor above me when trying to get to sleep.
Easy to find, staff was pleasant.

Room had garbage, blow dryer didn’t work, room didn’t have a warm blanket and looked not maintained well. Table unstable, drawers unstable. They ask for deposits, but don’t maintain the room to a decent manner. Customers are paying for a night, room should be cleaned and up to date.

In kitchenette, the stove was non functional , so choose the wrong room assuming I will get the facility , the beds were not comfortable, too squeaky
