Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe rooms didn’t have air conditioning and there were periods of the day that were quite hot. They do provide a fan. The beach is super small and very reedy so, not very nice for swimming. The kayaks they provide are limited in numbers and hard to get access to, as kids would mostly use them to play in around the beach so it was hard to get one to use on the lake to check out the view/nature.
Great location. The view was gorgeous, lots of opportunities to see wild life, and free kayak/canoe usage. A 5 min walk to the lock 31, where we got to see boats pass through. The park around the lock was beautiful to walk around and sit and relax with more gorgeous lake views. Also close to damn to view and walk across. Walking distance to many restaurants. A short drive to see the Adam and Eve rocks ( 5 mins) and a 10 min drive to the beach with a sandbar, which was great for swimming. Staff super friendly and helpful.

CanadaThe room was large, comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. We had a great view over the lake. It's an easy walk over to the locks to watch the boats and to go into the village for coffee, ice cream or dinner! There are good amenities like paddleboats, canoes and kayaks to use, and a communal firepit. There is also a small sandy beach and swings for the kids. Raymond and Doris are very kind and helpful. We'll be coming back.

CanadaWifi is a bit slow and easy to get disconnect. Bed mattress is too soft to me.
Cottage is clean, convenient, got everything you need in a cottage, good view, just front face water. There are BBQ stove, tables and chairs for BBQ. Inside got kitchen. They have a small house for you to kill and clean fish, with all the tools. Supermarket and restaurant is nearby.

Raymond the manager was an excellent host from start to finish. Cottages are well maintained. Sitting on the lake the view was incredible. I would highly recommend Sunrise. I spoke to several people who mentioned they had been going there for 34 and 20 years.

CanadaThe cabin was in very poor condition. Floors were all quite slanted and bounced a lot. Definitely a mouse problem as we had to clean all the dishes in the kitchen because they smelled. There were three bowls and 4 plates all of various sizes in a cabin designed to sleep 6. Cups and glasses all looked like they were won or taken home from different restaurants. All plastic and low quality. This was billed as a family cabin but there wasn't enough plates, cups, bowls or glasses for us to have a meal together. Only one outlet on the entire upper floor where the bedrooms were, with no air conditioning we couldn't even plug in fans. Shower had no pressure and the bottom wasn't sealed so the water just flowed under it to the floor. Fridge was dirty, everywhere where they had updated electrical or plumbing was simply left exposed without trim or drywall being replaced and could easily be accessed by the kids. Had to block off sections of the cabin. WiFi was spotty at best and this matters with young kids when the weather gets lousy. Again, this was listed as a family friendly cottage, not a fishing/hunting lodge. This would have been okay for a fishing party that was spending no time in the cabin but with a family it was a pretty awful experience. To repeat, this was billed as a family friendly cottage, not a fishing/hunting lodge. That's why I expected a higher quality, especially at over $300/ night We ended up buying all paper and plastic kitchen supplies and then ordering out for food instead of cooking in the kitchen. One of our family members has bouts of vertigo and the upstairs was so slanted and the floors so wobbly they had to sleep on the futon in the living room. Overall we were very disappointed with the whole experience. Definitely will not recommend or return.
The waterfront, docks and boats were close and nice. The staff was very polite

Canada*The cabin was dirty - the kitchen, FILTHY! I spent FOUR hours cleaning the kitchen and bathroom. The stove was really disgusting. It had filthy burner savers - with lots of burnt food. Under the burners was a LOT of mouse droppings. I spent over an hour scrubbing the stove and had to request new burner savers from the owner. *The dishes included in the cottage were disgusting! The ONE included coffee mug was cracked through. *The website clearly stated that the cottages are deep cleaned due to Covid. I assure you that this is NOT the case. *The pull out couch bed was broken. It collapsed when we tried to sit / lay on it. We showed the owner who couldn't repair it. We ended up putting the uncomfortable mattress on the floor. When we pulled the bed out, there was old food underneath it. *The bed had ONE single flat sheet and a blanket. There was NO top sheet. I wonder if the blanket we slept under was truly clean. *We needed extra towels and sheets for the pull out couch. We were charged $20 for ONE SINGLE flat sheet, a small towel, hand towel and face cloth. When I questioned the owner on this policy, I was informed it was due to having to clean extras. *Washroom plumbing: SERIOUS issues. We had to use single ply toilet paper, which ripped, it was so thin. The owner told us to flush several times EVERY TIME we used the toilet, to ensure that the pipe didn't clog. My child was terrified to go to the bathroom out of fear of clogging the pipes. *Shower: Filthy. Water damage. The first time we used it, it wouldn't drain. We had to contact the owner, who came and pumped it out a bucket at a time, and then accused us of putting too much down the toilet... WHY WOULDN'T we follow the rules? *Property: MESS. Debris everywhere. No landscaping. *Boats for rent were broken. We were unable to rent one despite being told we could do so. *No offer of a discount for deep cleaning the entire cabin. Just a thanks and request for a good review.
*Raymond the owner was SUPER friendly and responsive when we had issues. *The view from our cabin was spectacular! We were right on the water. *The cottage was very spacious with big windows. The fridge, stove and BBQ worked very well. *WiFi was excellent and strong. Allowed us to use our Firestick to watch movies with the family on the cool evenings.

CanadaThe place didn’t look like it was cleaned up properly at all, there were dead bugs all over the place and the bathroom and kitchen looked filthy. There was no AC, which was to be expected, but I suppose I expected a little more than a single fan for 6 guests that looked and felt like it was falling apart. The shower was LAUGHABLY small, and keep in mind, I’m only 5’2 with a small build. My family members who were far taller or carried a larger build had to basically shrivel themselves up to keep from touching the shower wall that again, looked filthy. The boats and ships that were free to use were even nastier than the cottage itself. There was dirty water with bugs all over in the boats as if they were just never once cleaned out since being purchased. There was also not much to do in the area, so we couldn’t even think of too many things to do to escape the heat and discomfort in the cottage itself. Overall, a horrible experience. We rented 3 nights but ended up leaving the second day. The only plus side was how nice the staff was.
