How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Could do with side tables in bedroom and an ironing board.

A more comfortable/larger love seat/couch is needed and we were told it was ok to park on the street in front over night and ended up getting a $90 parking ticket that was dismissed by the propriety owner as I can’t help you I don’t know enough about the area after telling us confidently the day before it was ok to do so. I feel we spoiled be reimbursed for this. I think the owner/renter should be more aware of what’s available for overnight parking around the property and that we should be credited back the 90$.
Love it’s quaintness, it was cute and homey! Super convenient and great location!! Very handy to many great and needed amenities!

The furniture was all cheap and uncomfortable. The comforter was scratchy. Couldn't get the oven to work. Curtains didn't close all the way in the living room/kitchen. No hand towel in bathroom. Please get another set of those curtains in the living room and more towels.
Location was amazing. Metro station less than three minutes away. Grocery store, liquor store, and coffee shop all directly surrounding the apartment. Cute roof with seating. Well priced parking at $20 CAD across the street at the montreal forum. Scrabble and decks of cards for downtime. Very clean and appreciated the little kitchen for cooking breakfasts.

A few extra towels/hand towels would be great!
Nice location on St. Catherines. Parking garages nearby. Clean, comfortable and modern space in a nice, secure building. Very responsive people if you have questions or issues.

We could not access the entry information. The pin to unlock the key box was sent just before 23:00. We arrived at the accommodation at 19:00. We had to make alternative plans. Contact telephone number went straight to French answering service.

On arrival I could not be buzzed in, but I soon was able to access the apartment without difficulty. The walls needed a few minor repairs in a few spots, but overall the apartment is well designed with nice design features.
Modern condo, nice kitchen. Appreciated how quiet and clean it was. The location is close to Atwater Metro stop. Very close to grocery stores, liquor store (SAQ), and a mall. Across the street from the former Montreal Forum building which now houses a movie theatre, sports bar with 10 pin bowling, and a small comedy club, The Comedy Nest.

The Booking.com website says that the unit has a bedroom with a double bed, and a living room with a sofa bed… so I’ve booked a unit for me and my 16-year old son… but there wasn’t any sofa bed there, just a small sofa in the living room. I asked the host how to open the sofa into a bed, the response never followed, just ignored my request. The bed was too small for 2 people to sleep on it. Also, many homeless people hang out and sleep on the ground near the property… not a safest place yo be around.
There was a good-sized and clean kitchen, the entire unit was clean, the host agreed to accommodate our request for a later check-out without a fee.

PLEASE BE READ ARE EXPERIENCE BEFORE BOOKING!! Host insist on giving you the keys in your hand and did not follow his own checking rules. Lock has a major issues and they will Insist you pay 500$ to get it fix. Neighbours said it an on going issue when she saw us trying to open the door. We weren’t able to leave until like 1:00 and check out was at 11 and we tried to check out at 9:30 we waited 3-4 hours and they left are bags on the streets with many valuables ( iPad laptop credit cards and more).They will block you number when they don’t get there ways. We had to call the local authorities to get are bags. Beware property host will bring a woman and she’s is pretty disrespectful. DO HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENCE!!
