They take your bank card details and keep for weeks, as a guarantee x any demage . It does not matter how long you stayed and when you left. They should check straight away at the time of check out and destroy the data. All those weeks I don't know who has access as the reception staff was changing every few hours. I was served by night security officer. Unbelievable .

The safes in the room were locked and not usable as far as instructions read. We had a short stay so we didn’t bother asking for help with same. The booking site said it had ironing facilities and we were banking on using them as we were coming straight from an airport and getting ready for a wedding. They informed us that they no longer have them and we used my hair straightening iron to the best of our abilities. We were in a more private room (which was kindly switched for us) but it was very hot on the highway level- we had to open our window and there was no screen on the window. It was worth the flies coming in to keep it open though. Small things- definitely affordable and would still recommend staying there for location, price, and kind staff. The lobby was clean, decorated nicely.

Staff were a bit hit and miss which was a shame given the quality of the hostel otherwise. No toiletries were provided which was a bit disappointing. Room got cold at night and I did not see a functioning heater so I’m glad I was travelling at a warmer period.

Perfect location, and very reasonably priced compared to other downtown accommodations and what was offered. Beds were large and comfortable. Shower was clean. Breakfast was sufficient and included in stay. Would recommend.

Smelly bathroom…. Staff seems to do the strict minimum and are probably the less smiling and helpful I have met in decades of travel - all but one person. (They are very friendly between them thought) Hard to know who is actually working or just hanging… Based on my experience and the ones from fellow travellers no idea why a whatsapp number is provided for late checkin. You will not be answered. Being charged 15$ for late checkin was also a first…

The location is excellent, simple but free breakfast was a plus and well made bunk bed with curtains gives a sense of privacy. Lockers in the room was sufficient. Big kitchen as well. Enough space in the room in my opinion and few spots to relax.

The staff at the front desk were not very attentive to help us check in or out. They were acting like they were busy on the computer and not wanting to assist us. We also received attitude when asked if we could leave our luggage at the hostel before check-in. We were not asked to put our name on the luggage so anyone could have taken our belongings before checking in.

I visit Toronto frequently for family reasons so good to be able to self cater for meals and breakfast included is an added bonus. Curtains around the beds in the large dorm offered privacy and it was very quiet at night

I stayed in a bunkbed and it was really noisy and it shaked a lot. The electricity of the bathroom dropped down due to their hairdryer they provide there, it was around 9pm and they didn't fix it until the next day, a lot of people complained because there was no way to take a shower. In front of the hostel there is a lot of people living on the streets, it didn't seem a safe place at all.

Location was really good, close to the main touristic points, train station, places to eat. Clean and quiet in general.

Good value for money! I stayed in a Queen Room which was spacious, clean, quiet and very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Despite all the reviews online regarding the neighborhood, I felt safe at all times as a lone female traveler. The location is superb, it's close to everything but away from the most jammed area around Union Station.

Keep in mind that check-in is 3-9pm, anytime later is $15 additional - Yes there are homeless people in the park in front but I've always seen municipality/emergency cars there during my 3-day stay and so it was totally no problem/safe - Adding a hanging hook in the bathroom would be great!

No critiques to be honest, just more so an FYI. To those that don't know Toronto, this is close to a 'slightly sketchy' area. However if you are ok with that this is a great place to stay!

Great staff, there was a minor issue at night and they resolved it very fast. Everyone was very friendly! The price is amazing and the biggest plus since I am a broke student!
