Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesAt checkout while processing my credit card I was presented with a "gratuities" screen (choose 15, 20, or 30%) which I have not previously experienced for lodging expenses. It was a surprise and I wasn't sure how to respond as I didn't know what the protocol is for tipping on lodging expenses in Canada.
Nice clean large room with excellent view and the host was most accommodating and answered all of our questions. A full solid breakfast of your choosing is also included. I believe you could spend a couple of nights here and stay well occupied.

CanadaNot much view from our room but the location was good. My wife currently has a knee challenge and to get to the rooms one has to climb about 30 steps to reach the second floor where the rooms are. Some elderly folks might have difficulty reaching their room.
The traditional breakfast was good but was a bit limited if one had dietary issues such as being a Diabetic ( type 1). Room and bed was very comfortable, and bathroom was modern.

CanadaThe Inn is Lovely! The hosts are great - very knowledgeable about the area & we had made to order breakfasts that were delicious! All areas are very clean & welcoming. The rooms each have their own private washroom, a mini fridge and the bed was comfortable. We would highly recommend to everyone!

CanadaThe view, the location. The charisma of the place. Even if this was an historic building, very modern and technological amenities were there and appreciated (google music, cast devices). Everything was also very well thought, and a feeling "of feeling at home" was very present. Top of my stays in NFLD.

Everything is high-end BNB, location next to trail, ocean view, clean, modern but in two centuries house. Host is a chief so expect unexpectedly rich breakfast.

CanadaThe mini fridge in the room was making weird noises, but nothing that couldn't be fixed.
We had a wonderful 2 nights stay at this B&B. This is an old house that was recently renovated. The host Brad and Tanya did a great job in making the entire place feel very welcome. The rooms are beautifully decorated with all essential amenities available. They even provided books about local interests if you are into reading. The breakfast was excellent, with several options in the menu. Brad prepared this with care; you can see that he put his passion into cooking. He also has a lunch cafe running between 11 and 4pm. The location is right facing the water side. Port Union village looks like a dead village, but the people seems friendly. The nearest restaurant (apart from Brad's cafe) is 20 min away in Bonavista. If you are looking for a quite peaceful place to stay then this is the place.

CanadaSuggestions: Would have loved a option to book lunch instead of breakfast and garbage pickup for those staying longer than 1 day.
The owners work the business themselves and it clearly shows. The cleanliness and the quality of the food was amazing. The property has tones of charm and I have already told all my family and friends what a great stay it truly was.

CanadaWe found we needed a chair in the room - to sit alone and read, put on shoes, watch tv. The sitting room was a nice idea and would work for some, but we ended up visiting in the dining room so that there was enough room for all 4 couples.
Heritage appearance opportunity to chat with fellow guests the breakfast, coffee available 24/7 local colour and info provided by Brad

CanadaIt is at the centre of Port Union, literally next door from the historic district of Port Union, and only about 15 min from Bonavista and 30 min from Trinity, which makes it a very convenient place to stay and go to most attractions in the Peninsula. The owner is friendly and can readily provide suggestions about where we can visit. The breakfast is also really fantastic.

CanadaWe didn't stay long enough!!!
I do not often choose a B&B to stay at but after looking at the pictures of Harborside Inn & Cafe I am so glad that I did something different. The pictures do not do the inn justice!! We were met on arrival bt Brad who gave us the tour, showed us our rooms and took our breakfast orders for the morning with our preferred time. The rooms were cozy, beautifully decorated, little fridge complete with water, TV with Netflix, robes and toilettries including soap made locally. Brad and Tanya have taken time and care to sure their guests feel at home...small things like the wifi code hung on plaques through house and suggested things to do in the 3 nearby villages and supporting local. We sat on the front porch for wine and a snack as the sun set before tucking in for the night. Brad's breakfast in the morning was fabulous...it will get us through our day definitely did not leave hungry. Highly recommend and we will be back!!!

United StatesNothing.
Breakfast was very good. Location was in a national historic site. Small village. People live there. Not touristy but great historical places where locals had great tours and stories. It is a town with a Newfoundland union history. We were so glad to be there. It is a really unique village. Very different from Trinity and Bonavista.
