Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwedenLocation. Very busy street and lots of cars "racing" their engines on both Friday and Saturday evening/night plus a lot of people out smoking and partying outside Cibu. Impossible to sleep facing the street. Add insult to injury Hotel management decided to mend the pipes from 10 PM to 2 AM Sunday to Monday - mending pipes is noisy, regardless of which room you are staying at and no, it was not an acute reason, it was planned maintenance... Fun fact. I was credited 75 CAD for this, 75 CAD! Booked the Four Seasons. First class service, second rate location and management.

UkraineThe level of work of the reception staff leaves much to be desired. In order to pay for the extension of my room, I had to wait more than 25 minutes. Also, if you use a debit and not a credit card, hotel will charge a deposit from the card in the amount of $ 750, and after leaving the hotel return it in cash, which is very inconvenient and no one warns you about it. If you have a debit card, you are not allowed to credit room service to your room, you have to pay every time and remind the waiter to take the machine, they often forget it and you have to wait until they return with a card machine. It is not safe to use laundry service at this hotel, my t-shirt was lost. This is the first time in a 5 star hotel that things have been lost. After staff of the hotel lost my t-shirt, they didn't even call me so i had to call the next day to see if they found my t-shirt.
The hotel has an excellent concierge service, very dedicated staff who will help you solve any problem and advise you perfect places!

United StatesWhen we arrived, I tried to explain that we didn’t want to sleep in the same bed as I had been working on a CoVID floor and my colleague had not, and despite negative PCR, we felt it best to maintain some distance…but they simply didn’t have the space. I cannot conceive of that. But I accepted it. They moved us to a room the next day that was dirty and loud. This was the “upgrade.” There were flies in the second room, handprints on the wood walls in the foyer, hair in my food at their restaurant. I asked for a quiet room, and they put us across from a parking garage, next to the elevator and across from a maintenance area. It was loud enough to need ear plugs at night. FLIES. Not a fly, despite not opening the balcony doors. We had arrived at 11:30 pm at night for check in so I asked that they adjust the stay by comping that night given all of the problems we experienced during our stay with the property. They waived "upgrade fees, valet and facility fees" instead. $300 was worth more to them than having me come back again and again and spend thousands more, which is a reflection of a change in management style. But the very worst was paying $700 or so a night for a hotel that had pests in the room. Flies, as you know are born of maggots that live in trash, feces and dead animals. We got rid of them ourselves the first night, they were a problem again the second. We told management, and 40 minutes later, when we returned from the pool, 40 minutes later, THREE employees were in the room trying to manage the problem. We stood in the hallway in our bathing suits, literally, while they tried to figure it out. When they left, we set our things down, one of which included a cake for my birthday and when we came back, there were flies on that cake. Which we threw out. They were gracious and sweet but ineffectual. And in the end, insulting as $300 is nowhere near worth what they would have gotten in one additional booking from me.
I have been here many times prior to CoVID, perhaps it's the changes d/t CoVID or a change in management, but what used to be a special boutique property with unrivaled service that was able to run in the same race as the Four Seasons next door, is now a dirty place with rates that do not reflect a level of quality necessary to sustain.
