Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Mexicoit wasn’t really something that bothered me, however I think for some other guests could be disturbing. When they have music in the bar, you can hear it and feel the vibrations in the room. It’s not that loud, but you can clearly hear it til the bar it’s closed. The breakfast could have maybe 1 or 2 more options. I stayed for more than a week, so eating the same everyday can get boring, at least for me. Besides that this is a great place.
the staff is very kind and always willing to help. The room was comfortable, and the facilities were always clean and available. The wife worked perfectly. The location is perfect, this area is full of restaurants, coffees, transportation, etc. As a guest you have discounts in the coffe and the bar, both places are really good and have a cool vibe. In general a nice place to stay :)

Ukraineone shower is not working, the second is working, the third is on the aisle with the street and there are no doors and this is for the use of men and women. There are souls in the other half of the hostel, but you have to go outside, it's autumn, it's not hot after a shower, for go outside. there is no lock for things, you need to have your own in advance. I have traveled extensively in Europe and have never seen anything like it. Unfortunately, there is no information about the lock on the website.

ChileOne thing I would recommend to improve are the bed mattresses. They are made out of a thick foam, which is not very dense, so once you lie in bed, you sink into the foam, and then it is difficult to move (turn) (I weight 70 Kg, so, not really a heavy person). Also, like in many places, the bunk-bed shake a lot when any of the two people in it moves. A helpful item that is missing is a small shelf near/at each bed, to leave your phone, watch, etc, while sleeping. (Much better if it has a power outlet near it.)
The facilities are OK. There is plenty of space in the kitchen, the TV room, the terrace, so, everybody can have his/her corner. The neighborhood where the hostel is located is nice, with shops and bars/restaurants close by, and very close to a subway station. It only takes ~ 30 minutes to reach downtown (Union station).

GermanyNot accesible for disabled people. Some of the paintings on the wall seemed kind of culturally insensitive. (E.g. a Buddha head on a column. If you are aware of what British colonists did to temple statues in Thailand you know why this could be seen as disrespectful)

United StatesThere are lots of very steep stairs - just be warned if you have balance problems, it could be challenging. The way to the kitchen is also very dark at night - I had to use a flashlight. Not so accessible, even if you don't have very major mobility issues.
My friend and I were put in the same room, and though it did take a little cajoling, they were able to accommodate my request for a bottom bunk. Facilities were very nice - very modest, nothing fancy - but well kept, everything worked, and it was clean and orderly. Everything you caj ask for in a hostel really! Had a very nice, big kitchen with a big fridge so there's plenty of room for everyone. I liked the lounge too. And the Cafe downstairs is nice and has good prices.

CanadaThere were ants in the basement shower area; however, staff responded quickly after one of the guests notified them.
Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hostel is designed and marketed for young adults, so almost all guests and staff were under age 30. Multiple showers throughout the hostel (at least 6+). Has air conditioning. Towels are provided for free. Breakfast is simple but includes toast, oatmeal, cereal, croissants, + you get a 10% discount if you buy from the café upstairs. The beds were comfy enough, and they provide extra blankets if needed.
