The bed was uncomfortable as it was too soft. Also there was alot of noise on the street especially at 3am. However, this was to be expected given that it was on a main street

The location was great and the owners were perfect with excellent communication throughout. Really easy to get to and close to all amneties

No.,place to hang anything. Shower, sink, needs hooks for. Nowhere to sit outside of room, common area.

The Palmerston is well run, clean, and Host is very helpful. Vu is perfect for the job, and has the patience of a Saint. The Palmerston is an old, room by the hour hotel. Amazing that it survived and is still in use. Security good.

There was no thermostat/way to control the temperature in the room - no aircon or heater controls. Fortunately, the temperature was not too cold during our stay. The shower and toilet were interesting as it had glass walls that was open at the top, with curtains. What I presumed but didn't get to confirm was whether the smell would spread to the entire room if one used the loo. :) I suppose in such a situation, it would be better for the other person to leave the room and return after some time when the smell has dissipated.

Location was great, usually 1-2 short tram/bus rides away from where activities are happening in Harbourfront and Old Toronto. We booked a private room (not the dormitory, which is also available in the property) and it had a bench running along one side of the room. This was convenient for sitting and placing one's belongings.

Missing towels and for non-coffe drinkers missing the tea option. Also below the room there was an HVAC equipment because the floor will vibrate most of the time.

Close to union station and CN tower.

It is good for a night if you just need somewhere to spend a night. The room has 4 beds and because it is sharing you really cannot move around. The sink is outside the washroom so you cannot really use it once the lights are off.

Close to a busy road, which will give you a bit of noise during the night. Toilet is 'not very private', because it is behind a clear glass wall in the room. The room could have been a bit better cleaned.

Small room, hence the price. Located near a tram which brings you fast to downtown. Good bed and shower.

Disappointed - facilities listed not matching room provided

I paid for the standard studio instead of the double room as the description for the standard studio is said to have a kitchenette inclusive of a stove. The images of the room also show a relatively well equipped kitchenette as described. Images show stove, chopping board and plates. As such I paid the extra for the studio over the double room so that I could save money on eating out. I had purchased groceries upon check in. When I arrived there was a microwave, kettle and coffee machine with two mugs. No plates, stove or cutlery. I messaged the host stating I booked a room with kitchenette and did not have any cutlery or crockery. I was provided with 2 plastic knives and forks and 2 paper plates for a 4 night stay and told these items are not routinely provided. In an ideal world I would like the price difference between the studio and standard room refunded. On my last day I messaged early in the morning asking if I could leave my bag somewhere for a few hours. I never got a reply. The bed and bathroom were fine. I did find someones old underwear on the floor near the bed. It could be a bit noisy and could hear shouting at times from outside. Decent walk (45mins) to the main tourist attractions/ area but plenty of food places around You were also unable to adjust the room temperature. It was quite cold.

Check in was easy. Was Emailed codes to get in with and no issue with codes. Walkable to public transport

Felt a bit. anxious when I received a message in the middle of my four day stay with two nights remaining, asking if I had checked out. I simply had gone to work and left my tidied bed in wait while out living my day. Upon contacting the office my query was met with professionalism and kind service and matters were quickly resolved. Thus, no complaints, just a suggestion against quick conclusions. A more regular inspection of the pillow and mattress comfort level could be afforded as well. Thanks regardless.

Keypad entry, in room washroom/shower, comforter, cleanliness, tidiness, and food restrictions.

Keep in mind for this price it is a really basic hostel. The rooms are small especially the bathroom. If you do a lot of sightseeing it is a nice place to stay but if you need to stay inside, it can get bored. Now common area. Bunkbeds are to low to sit in it

Very Central location. You can walk to the Chinatown of Kensigton. Otherwise the Trams stops in front of the hostel. Lot of food options near by. Each room has its own bathroom and a fridge.

Difficult to find an entrance door! I walked along the building wall 3 times till found it :D You need to read a Booking private message from the property, where they mention the code panel code to enter the property. Complete absence of the kitchen, complete absence of any common place/lobby, whatever to sit outside the dorm room. Toilets and showers access through the dorm room, so you will hear everything what is going in the toilet.

Windows, you can open/close! Windows facing the street, not the opposite wall. Outlets, not next to each bed, but in the affordable amounts and distance to use.

The staff I met on duty on the 29th evening by 5.30 pm was so rude and lacked empathy.I couldn’t understand how to open the door,he couldn’t tell me in a polite way what to do .He left me in the cold to figure out what to do all by myself in the cold snow. This happened even when I showed him my ticket and reservation .He insisted that I used the code and locked me out of the property. He could have explained to me politely where to find the code in my email.I felt so bad

It was a quiet and clean place .The bed was very comfortable.

No communal kitchen. I stayed many times there (I'm a regular guest) and only ONCE the room had a microwave and a mini-fridge. Usually you're only allowed to drink water. No food or beverages (other than water) inside the rooms. One other negative aspect is that the phone number provided is 99% of the time not useful as nobody picks up (I think they're understaffed) and the voicemail is usually full, so you can't leave them any voice message. Last but not least, parking is difficult.

Great location. Excellent price. Clean. The "Queen St" streetcar is just in front of the hostel. And there's a 24-hour A&W fast-food restaurant in the same building. Tim Horton's coffee shop is very close, and so is Loblaws supermarket (if you go there late you might be lucky to find 50% on ready-to-eat meals expiring the same day). There are also 2 high-end french-style bakeries / pastry shops minutes away by foot.
