The room and hotel were lovely. Needed one more chair in the room - only other option is to sit on the bed.

Shower: the water temperature was much too hot and I couldn’t seem to get the cold tap to work. I had to abandon taking a shower…water would have burned me.

    Bed was fabulous. So comfortable.

The heat in the room was awful , too hot and can’t control it yourself! The pillows were extremely uncomfortable . Our location was very noisy due to the huge exhaust pipe running up the wall by our windows which we had to have open for cool air even though we asked the front desk to turn the heat down..

Central location. Staff friendly. Great bar/restaurant. Clean

To call it “City View” maybe bit exaggerated but you can see the city out of the window. Not many parking options directly at the hotel, but parking garage the hotels recommends is very close. However, it’s expensive if you use your car during your stay. Also bit smelly and stairs seem to be kind of a meeting point/shelter for homeless persons or users. This is nothing the hotel can directly influence but still kind of impacts the stay.

Location downtown Kitchener is great, nice old building with modern interior. Staff is very friendly and helpful. All looks clean and well maintained. Room perfect for short stay.

Although not an issue for me personally, I wasn't aware there were a couple steps to navigate when arriving off the elevator at your floor and entering the hallways that house the rooms. Not a challenge except if you have a trolley for your suitcase/personal belongings. Something just to keep in mind for accessibility. I was looking for change so that I might leave for housekeeping in my room but the front desk had none and directed me to the Barrister's Lounge but they also said they don't manage currency. I left without having ability to leave a tip.

The Walper is a beautiful, historic hotel that has been modernized without losing the feel and grandeur of its history and architecture. Well-appointed - from the lobby to its restaurant "TWH Social" and the Barrister Lounge the hotel is comfortable and highly appealing. Reception staff were amazing and provided me with information, directions and ensured that needs were met. Parking is easily accessible in a modern parking garage tower across the street. The hotel is centrally located. The system was down when I went to check out. There was a movie I'd rented that I wanted to pay for separately from my business card. The front desk clerk took my name and assured me that he would separate it out once the system was back up. He not only did that but actually didn't expense the movie to me in the second invoice. I thought that was a nice gesture. I'd definitely return. A very warm feeling at this hotel.

I think the hotel should provide enough drinking water in the rooms. Although tap water is potable in Canada, but for some reason, we did not quite adjust to its taste there. More water bottles would have helped.

The whole place is so artistic. I took a lot of pictures. The decor at the reception was exceptional.

The accessibility to the hotel is a little tricky. It is situated right next to an intersection and since the hotel has no parking, you are left to figure out where to pull up so you can walk up to the front desk and ask where to park

The Breakfast was fantastic. The room was really spacious and comfortable. It was good value for money.

The whole building was too cold. I turned the AC way down....as in less AC in the room. At the Schwanke wedding the room was also freezing and nothing could be done about it.

Hall rugs, comfy bed and pillows, lots of cupboard space , friendly helpful staff.

Parking was available across the street in a city car park for a price. Did have concerns if my vehicle would be fine.

The location was perfect from the theatre where we were catching a comedy show. It was a quick walk so I didn't need to drive.

No counter space in the bathroom. I had no place to put my toiletries. Very upsetting. The water was warm, not hot for showering or cold for drinking. The movies were very expensive so we watched tv instead. View would have been nice if they matched the lamps (beautiful) to the court yard décor (which was absent). I little would have gone a long way. Love the historic building, its a shame that it was over modernized instead of leaning into it's history. Main reason for coming was the upstairs breakfast room (which still had some of the history in the architecture) but we were sad to learn it was not open on weekends. We thoroughly enjoyed it last time. .

This size of the room was excellent. It was clean, the bed and pillows were excellent. Coffee was excellent with many options. Thank you

The property itself was great, however we were bumped down from a King room to a Queen room due to overbooking, which was disappointing but the room was still very nice.

The location was nice and the facilities at the hotel were great. The room was well laid out and had good amenities.
