check in was a nightmare - reception was closed with no sign indicating where to go instead … finally went to pub which was swamped and they were eventually able to help us when they had a free moment … the “box” initially said all guests had checked in but eventually they found our info and keys … finally in our room over 30 minutes after we arrived

No towel racks in bathroom etc. Mirrors should be reversed. i.e. Put large mirror over sink and small shaving/cosmetic mirror on side wall since it was on an extension arm and could be rotated easily. Rocking chair in small room took up to much space

The decor is fussy, dated and tired. Awkward small shower with low water pressure. The included breakfast was disappointing.

It was available at an almost reasonable price in a place where accommodations have become outrageously expensive - even in November. Servers/staff were all very good. Room was large.

Some general housekeeping of various buildings could have been better. Little things such as very dirty door entrances to reception area. As well Glass entrances to the various lodges could have been cleaned too.

Amelia's Garden for breakfast was lovely. Quality of food was fine. The Pub food was also good.

The staff at breakfast made us nervous. V rushed taking our order. Still, very generous with refills of coffee. The common area of the building we stayed in looked a bit like a funeral parlour. Because we didn’t hang out at all, despite the rain, it mattered less. In comparison, the gardens looked amazing. Too wet to enjoy those.

Coffee was good. My pancakes were good. The omelette and French toast looked great. Only the person who had sausages, didn’t like them.

Room 8

The reservation was made under Sharon McDermott. Eileen Foster filled out a card for Room 8, we stayed in Room 17. Both were listed as queen rooms. Room 8 was not at all, a double bed and the room was much smaller than Room 17. One was listed as a deluxe queen the other superior. What is the difference? VERY DISAPPOINTED. This was 'Eileens' first stay with you and how disappointed she was when she opened the door. I did call the inn last night but as of yet no response. Again not a good way to handle the situation. Someone should be calling and rectifying the situation. We do not think a discount on our next stay would be appropriate. We truly feel some compensation should be given back to Eileen's card. I myself have stayed with you several times, the property is lovely, your staff friendly but this issue needs to be addressed.

Fireplace hadn’t been cleaned in years. Very dusty and dirty. Patio had seen better days with the wood broken down and paint falling off. Checkin was very poor. Staff didn’t know what they were doing. My reservation for dinner had not been logged. The front desk did manage to get us a 6 PM dinner. Girl at front desk was untrained, not with it Dinner menu was uninspired and dull. Food was ok

Breakfast was tragically average. I was so looking forward to breakfast and having eggs benedict. What I got was greasy eggs and peameal bacon. It was not what you would expect from Waring House, but from a motel restaurant. In term of the room facilities, the shower is ridiculously small. Decided to wait and shower at home.

Rooms are dated and cleanliness leaves a little bit to be desired (mold around the outside bottom of shower doors).

Breakfast was included and was generally good. We did notice some decline in choices from previous years. Some oddities such as serving a single slice of toast with eggs unless one requests a second; bacon is limited to peameal. The location is ideal.

We had to change from the first assigned room, in bad shape, the second one was better (thank you réception staff) but not up to par, a very lumpy mattress cover had seen better days, we had to get the sink unclogged ( the maintenance man did come quickly and was friendly) and I had to adjust the toilet tank which never stopped flowing until I made the adjustment

I found it difficult to communicate with reception to confirm my booking directly through the hotel itself, and the staff at reception weren't overly friendly just there, doing their job. Same at checkout. This didn't hinder our stay though as we had minimal interaction with them.

The location was great for what we were doing. The property is in great shape and was clean. They have a breakfast that was included, which was excellent. It's an older accommodation, but because of this, it has charm and character for days.

It was misleading to say that all delux rooms have a balcony. My room was on the first level with a couple of chairs facing the parking lot. Also, the carpet needs to be replaced. It worn and stained. The breakfast was atrocious...corned beef in the corned beef hash came straight out of a can...looked like dog food. And my partner's breakfast wasn't that much better either. You are much better off going into town for breakfast/brunch. The dishes were not clean with food still stuck on them. The service was slow but rushed at the same time. I think this place charge way too much for the quality of the property...they make too many claims on their website and ads - trying to pass as a 5 star inn but it wasnt... I'd rate this as 3 stars at most.

Location is great. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was spacious and clean.

Ice maker not on our premises- have to go to onsite pub to get some. If it were a longer stay we would have preferred a mini fridge in the room.

The room, no real shower, lights in bathroom were flickering, bed not comfortable with bed cover that was too small and came off in the middle of the night, location of the room gave on the main street

Our room was on second floor and would prefer 1st as we are seniors but none was available at time of reservation. The grounds are beautiful and worth seeing.

The room was ordinary and not worth the price we paid. Dinner was good but menu is limited. Would have liked more choices. Breakfast was excellent and our waitress, Heather, went beyond of making us feel welcome and taken care of. We were there for a birthday celebration and thought, perhaps, they would offer a free dessert but did not.
