Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesGreat hosts ( Steve & John ), excellent service ! Dinner was delicious , but a little a little on the heavy side in terms of sauces and presentation . Melanie was a wonderful hostess and server and was eager to please and pleasant to chat with . Very friendly staff and would certainly return and highly recommend this lovely establishment PS I have a gluten free diet and the chef had several choices on the dinner menu that provided some great dinner options, and our hosts made sure we had Gluten free breakfast options which was a nice and thoughtful touch ! Thanks to all the staff

FranceThe only, one tiny thing I can think of is to add a piece of bread to the otherwise very well assorted breakfast basket for people like myself who avoid eating sugar in the morning.
I truly appreciated the friendly and welcoming atmosphere as well as the gorgeous interior and the many personal touches the hosts John and Stephen have added creating a unique and cosy place. I warmly recommend the Inn which is a rare delight at a really great price. I will definitely return if I have the pleasure of visiting the equally gorgeous 1000 island region again.

CanadaAbsolutely nothing. It was perfect. The best stay I've experienced anywhere.
Everything! The atmosphere, the decor. John and Stephen ( hosts) were friendly and accommodating. Their Inn is fabulous! Dinner at the restaurant was amazing, and our server, Mel, was exceptional! I can't say enough about this place. I would rate it 100/10. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to experience a comfortable, relaxing stay.

CanadaNothing, everything was perfect.
Second time staying here and it is lovely. Steve and John are wonderful hosts. It is very nicely decorated, great bar for after dinner. The breakfast cooler in the morning is delicious and generous. Lots of fruit, even a small bottle of bubbly and orange juice to make a mimosa!

United StatesBathroom size.
Staff, owners, and facilities were top rate. We really enjoyed them all. The only downside was small bathroom, but as the Inn was an old house remodeled by the current owners, they have done an amazing job. The interior’s of the main house and the rooms is first rate. Owners Steve and John are very friendly, and as was all of the staff. The location couldn’t be better.

United StatesThe room was a little small, which is not uncommon for a historic inn. It's really designed for sleeping only; the first floor of the house has plenty of space for playing cards or other social activities. The bathroom could use some added shelves and extra towel hooks.
The inn and the grounds are lovely; we ate our breakfast outdoors as a hummingbird buzzed about the flowers. The staff and owners were friendly and helpful. We would definitely choose to stay here again. It was an easy and pleasant walk to the Thousand Islands Theater through a very nice neighborhood.

The breakfast was interesting, different, however satisfying. We enjoyed dinner. The hosts are personable and made us feel at home.

CanadaI wish there were a small hook by the door that we could hang the key by instead of keeping it on the table (since space is limited, and the table gets cluttered)
So cute! And everyone was very sweet. Also really liked that the building had history and was clearly very loved!

CanadaThings that could use improvement - More useful seating /table in the bedroom to be able to enjoy eating the yummy breakfast provided. Additional space, maybe a shelving unit,in the bathroom would provide much needed storage of cosmetics, etc.
We loved the ambiance of the house and the graciousness of the hosts. Location was spot on to walk everywhere.

United StatesWe were surprised to have breakfast delivered in a cooler. Nice idea, but would have liked a hot breakfast. We realize that all their energy is put into the evening dinners and it would be hard to do both.
The house was beautifully decorated as well as the annex rooms. John and his staff were very accommodating and you could tell they loved their work.

CanadaThere wasn’t one single thing we didn’t like. The place was so beautifully decorated and clean. Many added touches made it feel like home.
Breakfast was brought and left by your door each morning in a little cooler. There were so many goodies inside from muffins, croissants, cheese, fruit, juice, water, it was endless and delicious.

United StatesSee above.
I loved the inn and it's location. I felt that the room should have had an additional chair and table for possibly eating breakfast in room. I am not a bed sitter. We also felt that for the price breakfast could have been a little more substantial or at least served with proper dishes and utensils. I had the feeling that guests are very much encouraged to not eat or drink in their rooms. All staff including the owners were very kind and helpful with travel ideas etc. however there was no effort to help with bags.
