How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Upgrading the rooms, replacing shoddy, old furniture.
It was a no frills hotel but everything was good, nice, clean. The owners were friendly and accommodating.

Smokers congregating outside my door on my second stay. Maybe a designated smoking area? First night had a very loud person on phone in parking lot from 3am-5am kept me up.

The window in our room was sticky. We let the staff know when we were checking out and they promised to fix it.
Really nice room with redone flooring and updated bed linens with a modern look. Very clean. The staff were super welcoming and offered us a breakfast on the house. They have a simple Continental breakfast but serve it up in style. This is a great place to stay when on the South Shore.

It was nice that we could open the windows to let the breeze in. Lovely area in front of motel you can sit and have your breakfast. Would stay again if we're ever back to the area. We were able to go to the dock from there to see all the ships and also eating at Ruckers restaurant is a must if you are nearby like we were. This motel you can drive right up to your door so that is so convenient if you're constantly driving. Love that.

nothing really. we would have like if it had indoor pool, be we we're looking for an inexpensive place as we had to stay an extra day in the area, due to the CAT not running that day because of the weather.
The people there were very pleasant. This was our second time staying with them. They found that out when we checked in early, due to the rain. We we're traveling by motorcycle while there, so they put us in the honeymoon suite. Which was a bigger room with a bigger sofa. The owner/operator came in early the next morning so we could get a breakfast before going to board the CAT.

The air conditioning was very, very loud. There was a table fan in the room which you had to use at night because of the noise of the air conditioner.
The property was fine. Nothing special but nothing bad.

The location isn’t downtown Yarmouth, so you have to drive in
Very comfortable firm bed. All-new bathroom with great water pressure. Everything has been recently updated, and it felt like a new hotel. Location is close to a very pretty lake with kayak rentals, and a walking trail runs behind the motel. There are two markets/grocery stores within walking distance. The breakfast was simple but good -included eggs and yogurt.

Furnishings are a little bit shabby but things were clean and bed was comfortable.
Hosts were very friendly, polite and efficient. Recommended a great place for dinner (Rudder’s). Breakfast was light but sufficient for continental. Good water pressure in shower

Exterior did not look promising, so clean comfortable room was greatly appreciated.

My only issue was the laundry soap and thats only because I am super sensitive it was clean and quiet very nice people we would go back
They were new managers and very helpful with my perfume sensitivity they tried very hard for us.

coffee not so good.
Breakfast was minimal but what was served was healthy, thank you. I liked the eggs and tomatoes. Staff person at desk was very nice and pleasant. Lots of nature surrounding the motel. Nice places to sit outside.

TV had two remotes with no instructions. Could not figure out how to operate TV. Tub slippery and without grab bars. Non- slip mats available at Reception!! which I learned the next morning. Very difficult to understand the staff due to heavy accents. Breakfast not included; extra fee, but after deciding it made more sense to eat there and pay for it rather than go back into town (in the opposite direction from which I was traveling) I was told I could not because I had not paid for a room with breakfast!! Then the desk person sent me up the road to a seafood restaurant which was closed. Had to drive about 30 miles before finding a place for breakfast.
Comfortable bed. Clean, spacious room and bathroom. Desk staff sent me to a perfect place for dinner.
