Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaNothing to dislike.
Very characterful, both in the rooms and public areas. The dining experience was superb in both the main restaurant and bar areas. The location, right on the river, close to the Gatineau trails and walking distance of Wakefield is perfect if you like to get out and about.

CanadaI didn't like the spotty Wifi. It was also unexpected to find that there was no netflix available and that guest would have to use their own sign in. I would also highly recommend doing a reno to the outdoor spa area. I think with the Nordic in your area being as busy as it is people are looking for an opportunity to do the same cold plunge and hot therapy in quieter setting. It would not take very much to install a cold plunge tub and possibly a steam sauna with an indoor rest area. You'd have a very high demand. I know I'd come back regularly if those things were available. I was disappointed that they weren't and was half hoping there would have been at least a cold plunge.
The room was great. The food was amazing. The bed was supper comfortable. I really liked that I got a robe at no extra cost and the nespresso machine was really a nice touch.

CanadaThe bathrooms doors offer very little privacy, which we didn’t like very much. The curtains aren’t really black out curtains so the light comes through in the morning. We were in the Eco river part which isn’t actually part of the main hotel, made it a bit harder to use the hot tub near the waterfall, there is another one close by but I would stay in the main hotel next time. The restaurant was overpriced for the quality of the meal, we went to La Muse and did the 3 course table d’hôte, I would go elsewhere in town, none of the courses were exceptional for the price.
The staff were wonderful from reception to the dinner service. The room was comfortable for the most part, we really liked the bed and the pillows.

CanadaOur room unfortunately didn't have a view of the river/waterfall, which would have been nice. Wifi could be better as well.
The room was nice with comfortable beds. I liked that the hotub and pool were close by and open until 11pm. The outside spa area is also super cute at nighttime, and there are many things to do around the hotel since it was in such a great area.

CanadaWe booked a table for 4 people (2 couples) at the Muse restaurant. Although there were a lot of free tables on the terrace, we were refused to be seated there because of the restaurant policy. It should be only a single couple to get a table on the terrace. While placing the hotel booking, I warned them that my husband is in a wheel chair. When we arrived, it appeared the room that was assigned to us was at the very end of the hallway on the top floor. Way far from the elevator. Makes me wonder what could have happened in the event of a fire?
Large high ceiling rooms, comfortable beds, very clean.

CanadaThe Muse restaurant was wonderful, but only if you’re not a vegetarian. The meal is 3 or 5 courses and it’s fairly pricey. The vegetarian offerings were fine but nowhere near being worth the price. There should be a little more flexibility in the menu.
We were with friends and stayed 3 nights. The room was lovely, the bed was oh so comfortable and the view was superb, overlooking the river and snow covered hills. The 2 sided fireplace in the bar was a great place to spend an afternoon.

CanadaParking was difficult, we arrived and the small lot was full. We had to park down the road near a park trail and carry our bags, while we managed it would be very difficult for those with mobility issues. Reserved hotel parking (as the lot is also for the restaurant and some use it for the trail access) would be nice.
The atmosphere and history of the building. The grounds were naturally beautiful.

CanadaMany of the amenities, including the pool, were closed or being renovated leaving only a single hot tub for both the hotel guests and spa guests. On such a hot day it wasn't really a useful amenity, especially considering the cost. I expect it will improve once the renovations are complete.
The staff were all really courteous, personable and kind. Dinner at Muse was outstanding and again the service was top notch. The area is beautiful and the sound of the water is very relaxing.
