The main issue was I assumed the booking was in Canadian dollars as I was in Canada. But they upcharged to USD. I let them know this was lame. When I went back into booking.com, to see if it was a setting, it was changed. Felt like I got scammed by one of the oldest tourist scams in the books. It was the most poorly appointed place I have stayed in. Pots and pans were ancient and handles were falling off, stove broke, shower curtain was hung too low and filed the tub. Maybe it’s just because I’m from the US, but there wasn’t even a coffee maker. You win sow and you lose some.

The place was very cute. Location was great. Staff was very responsive.

The loft bed too tight. Could not sit up. We ended up sleeping on couch as well using our own sleeping bag. Would have asked for bedding had we known. Hot up there too. Not enough hot water to have a hot bath in the nice tub and we only used one that day. No cold water in kitchen. No glasses or wine glasses. Did get glasses delivered promptly. Did lot like the final price being more than double the advertisement price. Tried to cancel but fee was more than original price. Found the parking situation to be vague. Worried we could be towed or boxed in. Stove top broken.

-the decor, location, near park and food the character of an old building

Absolutely stunning apartment! Was a pleasure to stay. I loved the aesthetic! The unique decor is lovingly put together. It was exactly the kind of space I needed for my visit to Halifax. I would definitely stay here again next time I am in town. Everything was really comfortable, and beautifully neat and tidy. It is close walking distance to attractions and amenities, which was perfect for me as I was on foot this trip.

Cute, tiny apartment located a short walk from Downtown Halifax. Loud nocturnal neighbours.

I tried calling the number as listed in the msg at 2:45 PM, before my check-in at 4 PM to see if I could check in early as we arrived in town early and wanted to get ready sooner for an event that night, but no one answered, so we had to wait until 4 PM to check in as stated on the website. When we finally went to bed at 11:00 PM after coming back home and were getting ready for bed, we realized that there was no bedding for the pull-out couch (the couch has a compartment under the seat the lifts and it was empty, we did search everywhere including the closet in the bathroom but there was no other logical place that the bedding could be). So despite the place being advertised as for 2-4 people, there was only bedding for the bed upstairs. I was with a friend (not a couple), so we needed two beds, reason I booked this place instead of other 1-bed locations. But by 11 PM it was too late to call to ask for extra linen, so we ended up sharing the bedding. The worst part of the stay was not so much the apartment itself (aside from the lack of extra bedding situation), but from the very loud sound situation in the apartment above us. From 12 AM midnight to about 4 AM we heard what heard like loud steps across the floor, moving furniture and chatting. I was sleeping in the bed on the above loft and kept getting woken up by all the commotion going upstairs, but my friend in the bottom bed could hear it as well. The noise finally quieted down at 4 AM and I was able to sleep for a few hours until I had to get up at 8 AM. The housekeeping staff arrived almost 30 minutes before the stated check-out time of 11:00 AM. I couldn't help but feel a little rushed as we moved our stuff out to my car with the waiting car next to us. I also feel like charging an $85 housekeeping fee, which amounts to about the same amount as the rental, wasn't justified for how little we used the venue.

This location is located in a very central location to the downtown area that is only a 15 to 20 min walk from the main downtown area (Scotia Square, Halifax Public Library, etc). There is a grocery only a 5 minute walk away and a few restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. The owners have put effort in renovating the small space in a tiny apartment style and have succeeded in having a stylish, well-decorated space adequate for 2 to 4 people. Someone from the company tried to call me at 7:45 PM that night to check in but I was at an event where I couldn't take calls, but I appreciate the effort.
