This country was more exclusively French than in Paris and the Novotel was in line with that. The hotel was a little worn and understaffed, but it was an enjoyable stay nevertheless.

Management of the food in the restaurant

The food in the restaurant is good, but not well managed. The buffet dish up bowls run empty and is not properly controlled or refilled causing guests to wait.

They promote on their website Shuttle service to the airport which they don't provide and the option they offer is 5x more of what a normal taxi would charge to the airport. Last day I ate at the restaurant before heading to the airport and the machines to charge me with card weren't working... instead of offering a solution they made me go to the ATM and get money to pay them, so I was charged a withdrawal fee, they didn't cared .... they even escorted me to the ATM (maybe they thought I was going to run away)

Hotel was good, think you expect this for the amount you are paying for the room. Food was delicious.

The hot shower stopped working during my stay. I called the receptionist and it was fixed the following day. The room price was significantly higher than the actual booking price because I paid in USD.

The restaurant wasn't good. The food was expensive and not of good quality. If your breakfast isn't included by default just go to a bakery or the local supermarket to get better and cheaper food. The restaurant meals are not good compared to all the nice restaurants you have at less than 20 min walk or 5 mijn taxi.

I realized on the first night that the air condition in my room wasn't working. There was no hot water in the bathroom as well. I reported this and a handy man was sent up with a ladder and tried to repair as I sat waiting to sleep. He managed to fix it but now water was dripping from the ac too. I had to take a very cold shower as the plumber who was sent up to check on the hot water couldn't fix it and said nothing to me but just left. After taking another cold shower the next morning I reported the situation again on my way back from a meeting. This time around I was told my room would be changed which they did. My point is I expected a room change soon as I made the complain and not wait a whole day to do so. The cold showers were not pleasant.

I thought the room came with Breakfast but noooo. When I asked at the reception I was informed I had to buy my breakfast if I wanted any. I wasn't too pleased with that.

The hotel is very old, the carpet is mold, i had roaches in my room, the hotel need an upgrade urgently, its in a very bad shape, the price is too overpriced, for the same, or even cheaper you can get way better hotels in the same area

The staff were poor, the hotel is in need of renovation the manager tries but they need to train the staff. As the afcon was on it was mega expensive so you expect a level of service. Every order we made was never correct I really wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. We are in Abijan for at least another week but have chosen to move to another hotel
