Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandNothing. Perhaps the walk up from the beach, but that is just the lazy talking :) its an easy walk on a nice sealed road.
Awesome location - up on the hill with great views over Muri lagoon, but just a short walk down to the beach and swimming in Muri lagoon. Very convenient walking distance to everything that we needed, including the Muri Night Market. The room was very clean with everything we needed for a short stay.

New Zealandno issues at all with the property, if I was to be super critical all I would say is that the property was better sign posted as it took us a while to find it, & maybe some milk in the fridge for us, but none of this affected our stay :) we had a slight issue with a double payment being taken but it was resolved immediately so no hard feelings with that :) thanks for a great stay!
great location & being able to use Muri beach hotel facilities was a bonus, we ended up eating there a lot as the food was really good & the staff were amazing! we were on push bikes & it was a perfect location for us :) had a working kettle, hair dryer, lots of tea & coffee etc & a good amount of toiletries & good shower pressure, very clean & tidy & lovely staff. amazing views, lovely friendly dogs also :)

New ZealandNo toiletries - not sure if there should have been any.
We loved the quiet location with views between the trees from our villa to Muri Beach. It was a short walk to dairies, cafes, Muri Night Market and the Muri Beach Club pool. The villa was spacious, cool and had modern furniture and lovely deck with outdoor furniture. Good kitchen facilities so we could make our own meals if we wanted to. The large bed was very comfortable. Access to Muri Beach Club facilities and beach was a bonus. The owner was very responsive in helping us with transport from the airport. We would definitely stay again.

New ZealandThe floor needed a wash before we arrived but didn't get it. Noisy roosters woke me too early and also during the night.
Loved the view, the self-contained facilities, the wonderfully comfortable beds, the area of Rarotonga, the friendliness of the locals.

New ZealandIt's quite confusing as all photos online showed two beds in one room, but we got one big bed. We arrived quite late in the evening so did not ask for change. The second night we met two large cockroaches which were really scary and hard to kill, could not sleep at the second night.
Nice location and not far from Muri beach; reasonable price; big kitchen with cookware

AustraliaI didn't like the noisy neighbour who was working each morning on renovating his property, especially as started quite early. Also the roosters!! There were quite a few small black ants in the apartment and in the bed.
I liked being away from the busy tourist precinct along the beachfront and the nice view over the lagoon.

New ZealandMosquitos are annoying, highly recommend going to the local shop to grab mosquito coils to enjoy the balcony. Ants were a plenty and the geckos find their way in. Roosters crowing all hours. Hot water was a miss, we tried all ways to get it going but with no luck. Air con remote batteries were flat so we couldn't turn it on when it was muggy.
Loved how it felt like you were in a tree hut, peaceful and relaxing. Great views of Muri Lagoon and not a long walk to the local shops and restaurants. They provided eye masks and ear plugs were a must if you wanted sleep (roosters crow all hours)

AustraliaThe bathroom is not enclosed so the room can be quite humid after showering- even when the air con was running. Having the rooms serviced more regularly would be a bonus.
The Bungalows were away from the main road and gave you peace of mind. The facilities are perfect if you like to cook your own meals.

New Zealandroosters crowing all night and fire very close by which was so Smokey, we had trouble seeing each other at one point while getting ready for a wedding.
bungalows were lovely inside, clean and well cared for. pity about the all night roosters and chickens that prevented one from sleeping. Also neighbour had fire going outside which inundated our bungalow and all our clothing reeked of smoke to head off to a wedding that day.

New ZealandThe only problem was the free roaming roosters that crow all hours of the night, this problem isn't specific to these bungalows, friends staying at other parts of the island experienced the same issue. Ear plugs are definitely needed and were supplied.
It's 10 minute walk to the beach, a few shops, Captain Tama Lagoon Cruizes and the Muri Night Market.

New ZealandNo pool even though we've been told we can use the pool at somewhere else but it would be a long walk to the pool or a beach. We wouldn't stay there for long. It pricey for the quality provided, no view or pool.
We only stayed at this property for a night. The bed is comfortable and there is a full kitchen if someone is looking at staying there for longer and prepares meals.
