Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Dor was a lovely host who made sure we were comfortable and settled in. Went above to make sure we were set up with our basics and fresh fruit/water. The Villa has everything you need for a short or long stay. Super clean and comfortable, we felt right at home. We loved lounging by the pool outside or inside with the aircon if it was too hot. Great location close to town and Muri! 10/10 would stay again

Our stay at Villa 1 was exceptional, super comfortable, private, clean and great location in between the township and muri. All the amenities of the home was great, I would highly recommend Te Etu Villa to a small family and or group. Crisp sheets, HUGE bathroom, aircon and fan which we fully appreciate and a great pool to cool off. Our stay has been so good we have moved into Villa 2.

New ZealandNothing at all.
We stayed here in April 2023. Dor (the host) is exceptional! We got greeted at the airport with flowers (locally called as 'ei) with Dor's beautiful smile and happy vibe. We felt like we knew her since forever, she was so warm and welcoming. She helped us find our rental car and took some of our luggage that would no longer fit (in the boot). The drive to the villa is short. The views when you leave the main road are amazing - so lush and green all the way to the villa. The villa is as what we expected - absolutely loved the pool! Since the villa is off the main road, it is really quiet at all times. To say that we loved our stay at Te Etu villa would be an understatement. It really added to the whole amazing Cook Island experience. We will definitely be back!

This place is amazing inside & out! Hidden gem on the island I say! Very homely & accomadating fitted with everything you will ever need well on holiday. I love the book shelf & board games provided, the rain ponchos if required Dor has everything sorted. Home is very clean, well looked after & lovely open plan layout onto the deck, roof fans & aircon so you dont need to worry about the heat. Dor was soooo amazing & made us feel at home making sure we had everything we needed. If your looking for a quiet spot on the island away from the rush then this is the place for you. There is nothing to not like about this place! The outdoor area deck / pool is well set out with furniture to relax, overlooking the pool and plantation, spent most of our time there. Your own private pool is a super bonus! Thank you Dor & family for letting us enjoy your piece of paradise. Absolutely everything we combined with our family next door which the gate opens up so you can enjoy the company of all the family, if you didn't want 2 you 😂 you can also close the gate. We had a couple of home cooked dinners and lunches and both villas offered so much utensils and appliances e.g blender, slow cooker, stove tops,BBQ,big fridge with freezer on top great for storing your big bag of ice in and 2ltre ice cream. This is my 5th time on the island and have stayed somewhere different all the time but these villas were top notch and the host was so accommodating and super nice and instantly made us all feel welcomed from the airport when she meet us there on arrival to take us to our villas. Air con amazing in all rooms and washing machine was easy to operate also had washing powder already there with a hand sewing kit and a first aid kit just in case. So much more than the pictures.Cant wait to bring more family n friends here this host and villas truly made our trlp unforgettable thank you again Doris

New ZealandEtu Villas is situated in a perfect location, a short drive to Avarua and a 20min drive to muri beach/markets. Etu Villas is emaculate, aircon in both rooms, large bathroom and the added luxury of the pool kept our whanau happy and entertained. Great depth for adults and kids to enjoy, younger children will need a floaty. It is also good to know there are two houses next door to each other which will be perfect to accommodate for a larger group or families. Dor is also a fantastic host who accommodated our whanau for an early check in and a late check out. Really appreciated this as with children it made our experience and stay that much more enjoyable and relaxing. Our whanau felt comfortable to enjoy the luxuries of this villa and thats a big thanks to Dor. We would love to stay again.

New ZealandLoved everything!
I wish I could give Te Etu Villa (1) a higher rating! The Villa exceeded our expectations, it was extremely clean, spacious, perfect for kids and in a great location. Dor and her family were SO accommodating, friendly and all round fantastic people. The communication with Dor was easy and stress free, she even greeted us at the airport and waited while we sorted the wifi and rental car. We were able to cook/BBQ if we wanted too, do washing and of course swim which is very important with children! The pool was a good depth for our children (8 & 11). We can’t wait to stay again! Thank you Dor and Halatoa for giving us a space which we could unwind and relax in, we will see you again in the near future! From the Munro/Soper family, Dunedin NZ
