Tropical Sands is truly a little gem of a place in a fantastic location! Totally unpretentious, really well equipt with everything you could possibly need and Kanoe and Rudy are really really welcoming and helpful! Totally recommend!

The beach is not a swimming beach but very close to Muri Beach so was not an issue for us.

Rudy and Kanoe were lovely hosts, very welcoming, always happy to help and nice to chat to! The property itself was well maintained and beautifully decorated. We were two friends traveling together, so the two bedroom/ two bathroom villa was perfect for us to have our own space under the same roof. The kitchen had everything we needed, including filtered drinking water! Handy location, very close to Muri beach. Gas station/ shop about 100 metres across the road, as well as the popular Vili’s Burger Joint. The buses stop right outside traveling both directions. There are also two bikes free to use. Loved our stay at Tropical Sands and will definitely stay again next time we are in Rarotonga!

My partner found the bed a little too firm but he got used to it, and there could have been a few more hangers but these are small details - really we cannot complain for the price.

This place is visually appealing without being flash. It is excellent value in a good location close to the sea and a short cycle ride to Muri beach. The island bus passes just by the door going both ways.The property is virtually on the beach and we saw a whale on our first day there! The hosts Rudy and Kanoe are lovely people- warm, friendly and very accommodating. We appreciated touches like the use of an umbrella, bikes, a beautiful garden, the ceiling fans, and filtered drinking water, the ice cubes in the fridge and the practical concern to be sustainable. We will definitely stay here again if we can and will be recommending to our friends and family.

Very Private space with awesome panoramic of the beach, maybe trimming the palms for better view would be bonus. Awesome facilities and decoration which makes your feel at home and at the same time on holidays.

Kanoe and Rudy are amazing people, such a joy to chat with. They've lived on the island for ages so are great help with recommendations. The 'resort' is just 5 huts so you get personal attention without crowding. Each hut is individual, so you don't feel like you're staying in a hotel. (Unit #1 is RIGHT ON the beach!) Each hut is large enough to not feel cramped but small enough to keep clean easy, along with everything you need in a kitchen except an oven. The beach is gorgeous, the reef is so close you can watch whales travel by from your porch! Minimart/gas station/burger place just up the street, short drive to the Muri Beach area, longer drive into town. Nice and quiet, just listen to the surf all night.

Amazing location with comfortable and well equipped beach villas, beautiful beach front. Rudy and Canoe were so friendly and helpful. We loved the setting and the decor of the rooms. The beach itself is not for swimming but a little further along in muri is beautiful

We liked that it was close to the beach even thoe we couldn't swim in it because of the rocks. Hostess was very friendly and helpful. Nice and clean Villa.

We really enjoyed our stay at tropical sands. It was a lovely place, great to have own kitchen facilities and the grounds were beautiful. Our room was clean and tidy. Nice and close to muri beach, supermarket just accross the road and good coffee and crossiants just down the road. Both the hosts were really lovely, friendly and helpful.

My cousin and I, stayed 5 nights at this lovely villa gteat value for $. We were greeted with a great Mahalo and Kia Orana by the lovely Hosts Rudy and Kanoè, a tour through their beautiful section with great knowledge of the area and also about them, They meet and greet all there guests with love and culture, very warm and welcoming. What you see in the pictures is exactly how the villa’s are. Exceptional maintenance and very close detail on its surroundings and features. Nice walk down to Muri beach and the Shops are 3min walk across the road and Vili’s Burger joint is next to Kaps(Petrol station/shop) with everything from toiletries to food to alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. If you are unsure just ask the friendly hosts of Tropical Sands. Ideal for couples or family of 4. It has a walking beach which is beautiful to relax on. I do recommend renting a car or scooter as you are away from Avarua. or catch the Clockwise/Anti Clockwise bus(no bus on a sunday) Very clean and tidy features in the Villa’s.
