Raewyn was a awesome host. We stayed in 4bdrm home right on the beach beautiful view to wake up to every day and swim daily. The Dogs galahad, yappy and Theo are awesome guard dogs to take care of you and very friendly. I would recommend staying here for big group families its affordable and self catering bring your own grocery from nz.

That our fan in our upstairs room just wasn't fast enough to keep us cool at night.

As it was a family home if we ate in we had everything we needed, the beautiful location or to just walk down or up the beach. It was clean and spacious and the 3 dogs 1 came on the canoe with us for a ride, the other a 3 legged dog could catch fish, it was so amusing, loved it and enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful location!! Walk out the door & your on the beach which is a quiet peaceful area. The dogs are friendly & looked after us & the property 😊 Raewyn was very accommodating and took care of us while we stayed for 7 nights

Nothing major, did not expect the hosts to be able to rectify these things, just notes to point out from our experience: Dogs barking at night randomly - normal in Raro so bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Noisy neighbours upstairs - the place was booked out to a family that were quite heavy footed and early morning risers. No air con - only ceiling and portable fans, managed fine but some nights were very hot so made sleeping uncomfortable.

This is a very clean place - we were all so impressed with this and how big the place is. Kitchen is fully stocked with all necessary utensils/kitchenware. Some tea and coffee is provided - a nice surprise. Great compendium - please take the time to read through it! All three dogs are so cute and friendly - our favourite bonus for this place! Beach is so close and the clearing is awesome to swim in. Kayaks and all sorts of water gear provided, plenty of it. Bar soap is provided in the bathrooms, if you prefer body wash, bring your own. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner. Bring your own laundry detergent for the washing machine. Definitely pack insect repellent! Raewyn and Rhett were amazing and helpful hosts, we cannot wait to come back here!

Raewyn and Rick are super nice and helpful. Really good hosts who leave you to yourself but are there on hand if needed. Fantastic location right by the beach and plenty of extra facilities also like kayaks and snorkels. These guys do not just operate to make money, they want to ensure their guests have the best holiday. Thank you!

This is an absolutely amazing place to stay for families! Perfect location and awesome swimming beach. The unit was well equipped and beautiful sea views. We loved the dogs and cats who were super friendly and well behaved! Raewyn was lovely and super helpful! Excellent communication!

The bedroom fans were a bit slow. No air conditioning. Not a really bad thing as it all worked well, it was just super hot!

The beach was very accessible. Loved all the facilities on offer. Was a really neat place to stay. Had everything we needed. We would highly recommend to anyone. All our family and a fab time in this 3 bedroom set up. We were given a late check out. We would definitely return.

Not a fault but Swimming and paddling was only accessible during high tide due to shallow reef but there are other places where you can swim and snorkel close by

Open spaces and plenty of room to entertain. Loved spending our evenings out on the deck. Basic facilities which allowed for us to cook at home some nights. Loved sitting on the top balcony early mornings taking in the tranquility of this spot.

Had to think hard of a negative :) So my only uuuurrgghh was the dogs barking occassionally at night. however I much much prefer the dogs to crowing Roosters (no Roosters here, yay ) and they did make me feel protected.

Provided excellent travel directions as Rarotonga does not have house numbers. Met on site by the Host Raewyn. House was open and ready for our occupancy. Clear instructions from Raewyn about how to take full advantage of the services provided on site such as filtered water, laundry, bar b q, etc. We were there in the first 12days of Dec and the sun set right in front of us every day... spectacular. There is a cleared section of the lagoon right in front of house so could swim there all the time. Tons of beach toys. Loungers, Canoes, floaty rings, life jackets etc etc.. The beach is amazing . One day sitting on the deck we could see a few things moving in the lagoon.. we worked out they were turtles!... The weather wasn't always perfect but temperature was great so with the big covered decks we could sit outside even when it rained :) So we mostly cooked and ate in , as the kitchen is extremely well spec'd and Raro does have great shops like Prime Foods for meat etc. plus we loved being able to Al Fresco dine with the seabreeze to keep us cool. Great location as Kavera is not too far to the airport or Avarua There is a wee shop across the road for short term provisions . You can walk along the beach to the Ship Wreck Bar, for a drink and meal. In the other direction you can walk along the beach to this fabulous hut for lebanese type food (no alcohol just great food). Definitely keen to rebook and revisit. ps: Gallahad, Yuppie & Overstayer the resident dogs are gorgeous. Cute to watch when they go fishing!.

Raewyn the host was super helpful, the accommodation was in an excellent location with a store right across the road, it was really well set up with everything you could need. There are kayaks and snorkeling equipment you can use and the snorkeling on the beach in front of the house is world class, we even saw giant sea turtles There are three resident dogs that will adopt you upon arrival, they are very child friendly and made the place really feel like home. We won't be staying in the resorts anymore, this will be our go to.

It is in a great location (right at the beach) and the kitchen is well-equipped. The host is friendly and helpful and went out of her way to help solve problems. Free kayaks are handy. Highly recommended and will stay again!

Our stay at Vaiakura couldn’t have been better. Stayed with partner and two kids (17 & 14). The unit had everything we needed and was comfortable. And what a setting! Set right on the sand, it was a daily delight to sit on the deck and enjoy the picture postcard view. Raewyn and her son Rhett were fantastic hosts. Very welcoming and accommodating. We loved the free access to kayaks and snorkelling gear and thoroughly enjoyed the company of their three dogs and the two cats. They have created a small swimming spot out front of their property and can snorkel out the front - even better snorkelling just 150m up the beach.

Close to good snorkeling beaches. Large amount of snorkeling gear to use as well as many kayaks. Enjoyed the company of other guests while we were there. Rhett went out of his way to accommodate us.
