How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The rooms are spacious with tall ceilings and they are very clean! Of all the places we stayed in Chile, the attention to cleanliness here was the best. Breakfast was standard: meat, cheese, bread and eggs, with juice, yogurt, pastry, and basic fruit. We appreciated that the breakfast room was always available for hot drinks and we enjoyed relaxing the in the guest lounge. The hotel took care of our laundry (for an extra fee) which was greatly appreciated!

Front stuff is very friendly but does not speak English I almost paid again in cash even the hotel already deducted on credit card.
We are the only guest there on the day. Location is good and quiet, breakfast is good. Room is clean and good size. Parking is in gated driveway.

All good
Very welcoming and helpful staff. Off road parking. Nice big room. Absolutely excellent breakfast. Not too far from Main Street of restaurants.

Our stay was what we were looking for. The breakfast was more than what we had expected. The owner chef makes a satisfying omelet. Facilities we very clean and organized. Located 5 - 6 blocks from the main square in a quiet neighborhood.

The bed could have been a little more comfy but fine for a short stay.
The staff were very welcoming. The owner is very passionate and informative about local history. His mother-in-law's carrot cake served at breakfast was the best I've ever had.

Unfortunately we only stayed for one night but the staff were really helpful. The room was a good size, pleasant and clean . We had to leave early the next morning so were unable to have breakfast.

Unfortunately the room we stayed at was right by the front door and window so we got noise from people entering through the front door, cars outside and the night club down the street.
Clean and comfortable, staff was wonderful and kind.

Excellent choice in punta arenas. Room was large,clean and warm. The attention to details and the wonderful decor are such a delight! Breakfast was amazing,the best we had in chile.

My wife and I were completely satisfied with our stay at the Hotel Albatros, so we have no complaints.
Pedro (the owner/manager) is completely dedicated to the well-being of his guests. Not just an excellent manager, he is a good man.

The bed felt a bit too mobile. It was on rolls and moved away if you bumped into it.
I spent literally just the night here between flights but the receptionist was very accommodating. I arrived about 10 pm, he showed me where I can find cookies and tea and also asked about when I leave. He ordered a taxi for me the next morning and despite the fact that I left before breakfast time, he made sure I got a coffee and could grab some fruits. I really appreciated his help and attendance.

A bit dated, sometimes smelled musty, and questionable neighborhood; I wouldn’t have felt safe as a solo female traveler
Location was great for our penguin excursion and to the bus stop. Clean, simple, comfortable accommodation. Hot shower, great water pressure. The staff was exceptionally friendly and made all the difference to our stay. They left us with breakfast to take with us, and let us keep our luggage until we got back from our excursion.

A beautiful boutique hotel with all kinds of charm. Very welcoming, friendly, helpful staff. Delicious breakfast, super comfy beds and linens. A gorgeous experience!!

Sound insulation wasn’t great, but it didn’t bother us.
