Great location. Could have l shower caps in bathroom. Staff at front desk excellent first night not so good 2nd night. Breakfasts phenomenal . Roof top bar excellent but they couldn’t open the Saturday night due to no staff. Only open Fri and Sat so should have had one of others at front desk manning the bar.

The location was good, although a long climb up the steep hill. I soon learnt to zigzag using side streets for an opportunity to catch my breath.

We stayed in Valpo for 2 weeks, and this was our favorite stay. Wish we had stayed here instead of the awful Airbnbs we tried. Excellent large complimentary breakfast. Loved the kitchenette so we could make food for the little one who needed to eat at non-Chilean meal times :). Every single staff member was super helpful, kind, and fun. The rooftop cannot be beat, and we tried many others in the area. Large clean bathrooms with hot water. Extremely comfortable bed and the sleeper bed as well!

It was windy on ghe rooftop a couple of times but blankets were provided and the screens gave some protection. The bathrooms were shower in bath type rather than just shower cubicle. Quite hot at night in rooms but plenty of windows to open.

We really enjoyed our 4 night stay at Casa Galos, a beautiful boutique small hotel in Cerro Alegre. This was our treat to complete a month's holiday in Chile . The hotel is simply styled with eclectic pieces and natural furnishings; the high ceilings add a spacious feel and the roof terrace add a touch of drama with the view of the Valparaiso hills with the port and the Pacific ocean , almost too much to take in. We made food there, it was great to feel like we actually lived on Templemann street. The breakfast from 8.30am was fruit , cereal, cold meats, cooked eggs, toast and carrot cake. No big hotel chain rush just enjoy planning your day . Crockery and cutlery seemed brand new.

We liked everything but the steps. Not anything that they could do about that.

The staff were very helpful, they even made us food to take because we were flying out before their breakfast. They made and left sandwiches in our mini fridge. A French press coffee maker was ready to fill, we had an electric kettle in the room. The location is great, but be prepared for lots of steep sidewalks and steps. The property also has a roof bar and you have a 180 view of the city and sea.

It has a nice roofterrace with a great view. A kitchen-net where we could make our own coffees in the morning. Great atmosphere created with wooden floors, crafts and nice furniture. Very friendly and helpful staff.

My one gripe is no reflection on the hotel. It is difficult to get to Valparaiso from Santiago. You can either go by a cheap option - public bus or by very expensive taxi ie AUS$220 each way. It would be great to have a more middle ground option like a hotel shuttle bus to and from Santiago to various hotels in the area. I didn't have any dislikes at all for this hotel. It was lovely.

Exceptional view over Valparaiso from the roof terrace. The room was large and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast great. Eggs, meats, toast, cereal, yoghurt, fruit, cake, coffee. The hotel is very well located well within walking distance to most sights. Lots of restaurants and cafes in the area. I loved that the hotel is in one of the traditional Valparaiso buildings. It's beautifully decorated in the local style and art but with attention to comfort and convenience. Wifi was fast and available throughout the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The last night we were there, a large group was partying on the rooftop until late and our room was just below the roof. We wished the nighttime quiet rules had been enforced better. Otherwise, a great stay.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful! The facility itself was beautiful. The rooms were large and light, and the rooftop had a great view. The rooms made it very easy to unwind and relax. Breakfast was delicious.

Just the wifi in rooms was not so good. Netflix maybe for cold or rainy days?

It's our 3rd time in Casa Galos. Two times with hubby and now with one of our daughters. We love it! The view, the decor, the big and comfy spaces, the terrace, breakfast, excellent water pressure (for shower), looooove the common spaces, and staff exceptionally friendly and kind.

The only thing that bothered us is that we are getting older and the beds are a bit soft and springy, which was hard on our bodies.

I enjoyed breakfast - there was a spread of fruit, yogurt, granola/cereals, toast, cheese, ham, jam, etc, plus coffee and eggs made to order. The hotel was clean and beautifully decorated; our room was spacious; we spent so much time on the rooftop terrace. The location is perfect and within a short walking distance to many tourist draws and excellent restaurants. The staff were warm, welcoming, helpful, and fun to talk to. We really loved all the staff members who worked here. They made great recommendations for food and activities, and they went out of their way to be helpful and make our stay comfortable!
