    Nothing

The hostess was gracious, personable, and helpful. The accommodations are simple but everything is clean and in order so good value for money. Breakfast was good.

Expect humidity inside the apartment, but that is nothing to do with the place itself, it is how it is on a tropical island

Chez Hiva is a really nice place to stay in Rapa Nui, it has very good location at walking distance from the sunset spot (Ahu Tahai), the shopping street and restaurants area. The apartment is spacious, with an open area and kitchen downstairs, and sleeping area upstairs. The internet connection was good most of the time (better then we expected anyhow, after all you will be on the most remote island). Delphine received us very well, she is very kind and helped us with a lot of information and good recommendations for trips on the island, plus we could borrow beach towels. Overall we had a very good stay and we would come back.

Internet is very weak all over the island.

The Hostel can be highly recommended. I had a very good sleep there. The place is situated very near to the center and this way everything is easy to reach in walking distance. Te Moai Sunset can be reached by 10minutes walk. The owner is very nice and she replied to all my questions prior visiting. For newbees: I can advice tours via rapanuitravel (2days), make a cycle tour across the island on your own on one day renting via Tahuti bikes and horse riding via Mahinatur tours. I usually had breakfast in bars near the ocean. I traveled off-season in August. It was great!

There is no TV but I likely wouldn’t have watched anyway. The wifi is slow, which is throughout the island but ok enough to do simple things

Room was sufficient for a good nights sleep, you can also purchase a 10L bottle of water for the room at a reasonable price. It’s a close enough walk to most things in town. Hot water was excellent.

    None of them.

The hostels are clean and tidy and bonus... with a nice vanilla aroma! Bathroom and toilet, clean and fresh.! A blue wall of a hostel and the decorations are great, a good choice of color for calmness and a sense of harmony within. Good location for proximity to the beach, to the center , to restaurants. A beautiful and evergreen garden for relaxation and an ideal place for meditation. Delphine and Lorena are warm and kind people, I like them a lot and have a lot of respect for them !! Greetings from a Bulgarian friend!

We did not find anything to complain about.

The tasteful decor in tropical style, cleanliness and host's hospitality. Lorena spoke English and was always available whenever we had a question. The place is hidden behind a large gate wrapped in passion vine. The units with separate entrances are concentrated around a paved yard where it's nice to sit in the evening and watch the stars. I loved the thatched roofs! Our room was equipped with a ceiling fan and a fridge, everything was neat and tidy. We did not order breakfast, but it was available upon request. Chez Hiwa is located on a quiet street, 10 minutes from the town centre. Ahu Tahai, famous for its sunsets, is 12-15 min by foot.

The only negative was that the microwave in the apartment wasn't working, but this was a minor issue, as most of our cooking could be done on the hob. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend the place.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Chez Hiva. It is conveniently located for the airport, and the Ahu Tahai moai and the main shopping area of Hanga Roa are both within easy walking distance. We rented the Maíka duplex apartment, which was spacious and comfortably furnished. Our check-in went smoothly and Lorena the host was very helpful throughout our stay. The property is gated, so feels safe, and there is ample roadside parking outside, which is handy if you have a rental car.
