Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PeruThe photo of the room showed a bath tub but there wasn’t a bath tub when we get there which was disappointing. The room was a little noisy and the bed covers were not very comfortable. It was difficult to use the pool because you had to book it at reception.
Breakfast was good, the staff were lovely. Great location. The beds were fairly comfy and they were happy to store our luggage after check out. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. It’s in a really good location close to lots of lovely restaurants and the metro station.

United StatesWe had a delightful stay at The Diego de Velazquez, (we actually stayed there two separate times ) Checking in from the airport we were very early, they were happy to hold our bags, and we went for a stroll and lunch. Upon our return our room was ready and we were checked in by the very nice Fernanda, she helped with many things during both our stays and was always a delight to work with. The rooms were decent, bathrooms well stocked. good AC, and clean The breakfast was very nice, different things on different days, nice fresh Chilean fruit. We used the pool/hot tub several times as well as the terrace on the 4th floor. All of the staff was quite gracious, we will be back!!!

United StatesI initially booked the Hotel for 4 nights. On the first night of my stay, I notified the staff that I needed to cancel 2 of the night for family reasons. Booking.com was notified about the changes I sent an email to Tatiana Ramirez "reservas@hoteldiegodeVelazquez.com" She refused to refund me for 2 nights that I didnt use, stating that I could use the balance for a future stay at the hotel. First, she stated that I would have a 6-month period to use this balance when I explained to her that sometimes a travel to Chile every other year. She continued to tell me that they could not refund my credit card for the days that I didn't stay at the hotel. The request was approved by Booking.com and I got an email specifying what I needed to pay. However, the representative of Hotel Tatina Ramirez refused to do that. Please refer to the Booking confirmation number; 41535224271. I was charged US$330.17 instead of US$ 165.09.

United KingdomGreat location, good selection of restaurants and bars close by. The Metro is only 5 minutes on foot. Super clean room, good size, and very comfortable bed. All the staff, reception, room cleaning, doorman and breakfast team were very attentive and friendly. Reception deserves a special mention as they were particularly helpful and understanding in resolving issues after our credit cards were pickpocketed on the Metro. Good selection at breakfast with plenty of fresh fruit. Really good that they offer an early-bird 5:30 breakfast for guests going on excursions.

SingaporeNo hot water facilities in the room for coffee and tea. However, it might not be a practice in Chile?
The location is central to where I needed to go for this visit, and the hotel is within walking distance to the metro station. Breakfast staff is very attentive and the breakfast options are adequate and sufficient. The breakfast hours are also reasonable.

SingaporeNothing in particular. A use of hot water kettle would greatly enhance the facilities of the hotel.
The reception staff Ignacio and Dario were extremely helpful with providing information and assistance, including the loan of metro card for use. The dining staff Sergio, Francesca. Daniella & Sonja were always cheerful in their service. The rpom service petsonnel Grecia was careful in her work. Overall, a good level of service provided by the hotel team.

SingaporeI was given a room on level 2 during my 1st visit and the room lacked adequate wall sockets tor use in charging mobile phones and computer use. However, I believe not all room are designed this way. Furthermore, the provision of a kettle and coffee/tea might in the room would be greatly appreciated by the guests, but I am not sure if this is a practice in South America.
The central location for this hotel. Proximity to restaurants, metro, money changes, supermarkets. The staff are all very friendly and professional and will try their best to assist you in making a wonderful stay. The hotel manager is also around to interact with the guests and understand their concerns. The breakfast time is sufficient (7 to 10 am) with early option starting at 5.30 am, and the breakfast choices are adequate for most guests. Generally, a well-managed hotel that attempts to provide comfortable accommodation at reasonable prices.
