Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesEverything was great.
My room was very comfortable and Pamela and Meiti were very caring, friendly, and wonderful. The kitchen was always available for use and Pamela helped me print my tickets and Meiti served us breakfast everyday. I really enjoyed my stay here and wish I could have stayed longer. It was very relaxing.

BelgiumHostal Casa Turipite offers nice and quiet rooms which all are situated around a courtyard where you have your own table and chairs to sit outside. The hostal is situated in a quiet area at walking distance of the busy San Pedro de Atacama. The owners Pamela and Guillermo are very nice people who are willing to help you with everything. Maite, the girl who is working there, is very helpfull and prepares a good breakfast.

CanadaIt's a little far from the main drag, but that could also be a plus. The neighbour has dogs that howl all the time, which they can't do much about. The room holds heat, so sleep is sometimes a little difficult, but that's Atacama!
The staff was great, mostly dealt with Maite and she was absolutely lovely. The breakfast was fantastic. The room was good, the shower had good pressure.

United KingdomExcellent room with a large, comfortable bed and a large amount of space for a very reasonable price. The hosts were very attentive to our needs in regards to breakfast for the duration of the stay and luggage storage for the final day. The place was kept immaculately clean during our vacation.

NetherlandsIt was amazing. Super cute little place , our room was actually quite spacious, big and comfy bed. Separate toilet but still private. It was like a tiny house just for house. The hostal has a kitchen that you can use. Breakfast was super nice and they even prepared a snack for the day we couldn’t have breakfast there.

United KingdomRoom lighting was inadequate for reading - only one bedside lamp. Room was spotless and regularly cleaned but top shelf of wardrobe was dusty which stopped us using it.
Compact room with large, comfortable bed. Ample breakfast with take away provided for early morning trip. Kitchen area was available to use out with breakfast time. Drying rack in courtyard which was helpful for washing (we assumed we were allowed to use it!) Location was good for us as it was quiet but there was a shop across the road. 10 minute walk to centre or bus station.

United StatesWifi was a little slow -- but that is to be expected out in the desert! The place didn't have too many visitors until the weekend, so was a little quiet. Could be good for some.
Very friendly staff were very accommodating even though we spoke limited Spanish. The courtyard and kitchen area were cute and comfortable for taking a break from the Atacama heat. The shower was perfect. It was easy to park our rental car next to the hostel on a quiet street.

CanadaThere was supposed to be WiFi but there was none available -due to no guests recently because of Covid and low season apparently. There also were no bicycles even though online it said there are.
Over all we loved it. Great location, 10 minute walk from the town center so nice and quiet. It was super clean, the shower was hot and great pressure, the room and bed was cozy and comfortable. The breakfast was good, we told them we are vegan and they provided fruit, cereal, bread and avocado.

SpainWe had problems with hot water the 3 days we stayed. The first day it came and go and the other 2 it was completely cold, so we had to call to get it fixed. They told us it was the pressure in the whole village but we also stayed in another place and didn’t have any issues. I would say it’s standard in the village to get eggs for breakfast but we didn’t get offered these, only bread, ham and cheese and fruit. Also, the first night we fogot to say we had to leave early the next day so we were not able to get any breakfast. You need to say quite a lot ok avance so you can get a packed breakfast. In some other places they leave the stuff there so you can help yourself. Also, the place is a bit far from the city center and there is nothing around in case you are tired and don’t want to go all the way to the city center to eat, so be prepared!
The room was good size and clean.

Also we arrived early but they prepared the room very fast and you can leave your luggage if you want
